I am so sad to learn of Amir Lerman's passing.
I was blessed to work with him on a few trials.
He made big advances in our knowledge of the little vessels, the microvasculature.
His work will live on through his mentees

Prof. @LermanAmir , a world authority on coronary microvascular dysfunction and my mentor at @MayoClinicCV , passed away today. He shaped my thinking as a physician and scientist, and I was fortunate to also call him a close friend. His scientific and human legacy will endure.

2020 uk suffered it biggest drop in gdp for 300 years.
From that much reduced level, any growth, even small will appear better than othe nations that didn't have the same drop.

More proof that medicine in the UK is becoming a joke. This year only 75 new opthalmology training posts for the whole of the UK were advertised (population 67 million) and yet the royal college is keen to train opthalmologists without a medical degree/ qualifications.
I thought Royal colleges were meant to serve the needs of their members ?

The managed decline of the NHS since 2010 was always going to end in mass staff vacancies (150,000+), mass avoidable harm, mass migration of staff to countries that value them more & mass industrial action. Negligent oversight, planning & funding have led us to this NHS disaster.
