@jeblad
I like analog processing of discrete signals. It is a neuromorph thing. Rants about cats, identifies as Cylon. Annoys fascists, just for the fun of it.

STRAIT OF MALACCA:
China just lost its most important oil highway — without a single shot fired. Trump turned Indonesia into America’s unbreakable new partner in Asia.
The Malacca Strait, carrying 80% of Beijing’s oil imports, is now under U.S. influence. Xi’s entire energy lifeline just got squeezed.
This is what real power looks like. Game over for the old rules.

@RpsAgainstTrump I wonder if there will be a full investigation when Trump leaves the office

Johnson, an evangelical Protestant with a business degree from LSU and a law degree he parlayed into running a law school that never enrolled a single student, felt the need to correct the pope on a point of Augustine’s war doctrine.
The same week Johnson offered his lesson from a podium in Washington, the Augustinian friar Pope Leo XIV was walking through the archaeological ruins of Augustine’s cathedral in Hippo, Algeria.

NEW: Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters today that Pope Leo XIV doesn't understand “something called the just war doctrine.”
Pope Leo is an Augustinian friar who spent twelve years leading Augustine’s religious order.

@IanJaeger29 The US doesn't belong in NATO - but how about we restore peace and integrity to Ukraine, before we cut Europe lose. Do you really believe that Europe can handle Ukraine on its own?

@sentdefender Please post the name and country of the ships.

The U.S. Navy has intercepted a total of eight crude oil tankers attempting to enter or leave Iranian ports since the start of the blockade on Monday, in all cases, American forces contacted the crew by radio communications and instructed them to reverse course, with all of the tankers having complied thus no boarding was deemed necessary, U.S. officials tell the Wall Street Journal.

Panicked U.S. hotels are slashing room rates for the World Cup amid a demand shortfall, exacerbated by what executives believe is being driven by a surge in anti-American sentiment.

@ImtiazMadmood The previous post does not make sense.
English

After Iran lost nearly all its leverage cards, with only the Strait of Hormuz remaining, it lost that today due to the airtight American plan.
And by the way, some people believe that the plans the United States follows are improvised ones, stated by the president or the secretary of defense or any other official, as happens in Third World countries, unaware that behind every step taken are teams of advisors and experts who possess the most precise information.
America today turned the tables on Iran, and even on the countries sympathetic to it, and it has become the sole entity that can prevent or permit the use of the Strait of Hormuz.
Had a resolution submitted by Bahrain been approved by the Security Council, it would have been better for the rest of the countries, as it would have allowed them to participate in protecting the strait and maintaining a presence there.
As for Iran, it has literally begun losing hundreds of millions daily due to its strangulation in the strait,
and America no longer needs a ground occupation of the ports as long as it controls the strait, having stripped Iran of its last leverage cards.
Iran and the Iranists will continue celebrating illusory victories, until the state falls or they sign the terms of defeat set by America, then they return to celebrate the victory.

@grok @ToshCooey @World_Affairs11 Actually, the terminal at Yanbu limits the capacity to slightly above 5 mill barrels.
English

Yes, it's true. Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline (Petroline) has been restored to full capacity of 7 million barrels per day after a recent drone strike disrupted flows. It runs from eastern oil fields to the Red Sea port of Yanbu, fully bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. Confirmed by Reuters, Bloomberg, and Saudi sources as of April 12.
English

@unmaskingthem @Lukee7711 @RockyPatriarch @24_70xu @MichaelStalker_ It's the common claim that the U.S. has some weird tech that beats everyone, but it is so secret that no one knows about it except (of course) the shitposter.
English

@Lukee7711 @jeblad @RockyPatriarch @24_70xu @MichaelStalker_ The facts are you have no proof. You made the claim. You have no evidence to back it up other than "why would they tell you what they have". I'll stick to evidence until proven otherwise.
English

@justincase_dfw @MJC880 @24_70xu @MichaelStalker_ I could explain what they are able to see, and why, and not forget what they don't see, but then someone would probably knock on my door with a pickaxe.
No, it isn't possible to see everything under the water from a satellite. It is although possible to track subs in open water.
English

@jeblad @MJC880 @24_70xu @MichaelStalker_ In other words, no sub tracking satellites back then that could see everything under the water

@ShaneSchaetzel The current attack on Iran by the U.S. and Israel proves you wrong, and is the core reason why it seems like the old ban on developing nuclear weapons is now changed.
English

There is no need for Iran to EVER enrich uranium, when they can get it for free from the US under UN supervision. Besides, in a decade or so, fusion power will likely become reality, and then nobody will need uranium, unless… they want to make a nuclear bomb.
Al Jazeera Breaking News@AJENews
BREAKING: Iran says it could suspend Uranium enrichment for up to five years, an offer the Trump administration has rejected, insisting on 20 years, according to two senior Iranian officials and one US official.
English

@J_M_Jacoby @ricwe123 Another thing; the East-West pipeline has a max capacity that seems impressive, even if way lower than what usually transits the strait, but there is a capacity problem in the Port of Yanbu. They can only load 5 million barrels a day under optimal conditions.
English

Just wait until the US starts blockading the Strait of Hormuz.
The Houthis will shut down the Bab Al-Mandab Strait.
Saudi Arabia won’t be able to sell its oil, and the Suez Canal will be crippled. Europe will be gasping for supplies, with vital trade routes choked off.
This isn't just a dumb move,it’s setting the stage for chaos on a global scale.

English

@nicksortor Interesting though, the Chinese are sailing through.
English

🚨 HOLY CRAP! President Trump's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is costing Iran $400 MILLION PER DAY, per Fox
"$13 billion a MONTH! Plus, the Iranians can only store oil for about two weeks before they have to start SHUTTING OFF wells.
The Iranians can't outlast us. The world's turning to US for energy. Over 120 empty oil tankers are on their way to the Gulf of America."
