I kept her and her sister Gizzy. Reunited at 12 weeks old, since then they have grown together, farrowed together, raised piglets together and now live in retirement together 🐽🐽

We stop and say hello to Friar (ex race horse and the late Candy's best friend). He misses her. I MISS HER 😭. She loved warm days like this and would lie down and scare walkers by pretending to have died in her field. Poor Friar. He has sheep friends but they're not a fat pony

Finally, my grandson asked yesterday "where are the caterpillars' eyes?" After a little research internet, we discovered it doesn't actually have any! Ironic considering it's the caterpillar of the 'Eyed' Hawk-moth!

Tuesday is Nature Study Day with my 13 yr old grandson, and we started this new term with the lifecycle & ecology of the beautiful Eyed Hawk-moth.

I can’t recommend applying enough - I submitted #Bindweed with zero expectations. ‘Life changing’ can be an annoying phrase, but the @bruntwoodprize really has been for me. If nothing else, I’ve met and worked with some of the most wonderful people because of it. Happy writing!

Ever since I was a kid I’ve thought of my favourite writers as my best friends
Kind of like kids have invisible imaginary friends…
I keep my best friends on a shelf near where I write - about 20 of them
It takes an exceptional book to make that shelf, this book makes it easy

@RobertEFuller I didn't realise buzzards predated cygnets, presumably they take them when they're not on water? How big do they have to reach to be 'safe'?

🦢🧵3/4.... after examining the remains, I've uncovered the culprits: common buzzards (Buteo buteo). Although upsetting, at times like this it is helpful to remember they too have families to feed.

The tame lambs I have got are bleating for their tea. I can't feed them until I get the remaining 5.

Martha is the most unhelpful ewe sometimes....
The tame lambs have gotten in with the flock. They worked out how to climb onto the bank and get over the hedge.
They now want to come home.
This involves a gate.
It also involves the group that has Martha in it.

An Ebay seller accepted an offer, so until my grandson's next birthday, I am now the proud owner of this rather battered looking Edward lll silver halfpenny coin.
I just hope he doesn't have a new 'favourite monarch' by then! 🤞

My 13yr old grandson LOVES #History, and has been telling me all about his favourite monarch, Edward lll... who I previously knew very little about. He has also started collecting old coins, so for his next birthday I'm on the look out for an affordable Edward lll coin!

For those that know me on here, you’ll know I has two things on my bucket list: see a murmuration and the Northern Lights. Achieved one last year a few miles down the road, and tonight I’ve achieved the other from my back garden. I’m overwhelmed….

Massive solar storm hitting earth now. Aurora can even be seen here in London which is amazing with the light pollution. Look through your phone / take a photo even if you can’t see with the naked eye.
