I chase that feeling more than I chase the summit. Lately I’ve been asking myself — what activities actually force me into that state versus which ones just feel productive?

“Why do you do this?” My climbing partner asked me that mid-route today. I’ve been thinking about it ever since.

If you’re stuck between two paths, ask yourself “which of these expands my life more?” It’s usually the harder, better path. After all, you can always go back to basic. That door never closes.
