@Altimor Has it, though? The far left are anti-tech, but always were. The surprising thing to me was that the far right seem to have joined them. There was a lot of "go woke, go broke." But that can't be due to a media campaign. The anti-tech media and the far right despise one another.

The events of this weekend change things. The bank run isn't actually the biggest thing — the reaction to it is. It's making me and a lot of people realize that the media's coordinated anti-tech campaign over the last 6yrs has been a lot more effective than we thought.

@Suhail Merely succeeding will cause there to be people who want you to fail. It's not necessary to break anything, or for politics or money to be involved.

I suppose I've learned today how many people are excited to see our technology industry fail. It's unfortunate that it went from something exciting and futuristic to something political where people root for it to fail--even if others are collateral. I guess we broke something.

Now would be a good time for every founder/VC to pull every political connection you have towards a coordinated effort to make D.C. take this event seriously. Word is they do not.

@FromKulak I was struck in grad school 2007-11 by how much less intelligent students seemed than when I was an undergrad 1987-91. I found a distinct delta between my peer group (40 ish) and those just out of undergrad (20 ish). I tried to work only with older students on projects.

Coverage is waaay better too - video calls at 4G with full signal in the middle of the mountains. And full roaming across all Europe so the “bigger area” point is invalid.
