@DRMSHPhD body if work is fascinating. As a lifelong Christ follower. At first the subject is disconcerting. We get hung up on the word gods. Celestial being, or divine being, it heavenly host, powers, principalities, these words are synonymous, and are all over the Bible. But exegesis means we gotta do something with the word "Elohim" . Say you dismiss psalm 82 as being humans, ok. But you have a big problem when Saul consults the medium and Elijah is brought forth as an Elohim.

I'm a former atheist, born and raised. I remember distinctly what it was like not to believe in anything. I'm Christian now. And I believe many (lesser) gods likely exist, thanks to the work of Dr. Michael Heiser. You can accept nothing, and then everything, and still only love, trust, and worship the God of the Bible as the Creator of all things.

Yeah that makes sense - so to be clear I think any theist (including monotheists) can only ever know what it’s like to not believe in a particular kind of god; they don’t know what it’s like to believe in zero gods (i.e., they don’t know what it’s like to be an atheist). A theist can only ever tell rival religions that they should ascribe a different set of properties to God, never that they shouldn’t believe in God at all. There’s a massive metaphysical difference between a theist disbelieving in a particular deity in favour of another with different characteristics, and an atheist not believing in any kind of god.

So let me get this straight...
Baylor tells TPUSA we can invite community members (non-students) to our event, but then reverses their decision after some progressive students complained, forcing us to tell 4,500 ticket holders not to come.
Baylor then greenlights a progressive counter-programming event "All Are Neighbors" and decides community members CAN attend that.
The Southern Baptist school's hypocrisy is documented right here in the student newspaper for all to see.

Not arguing the liberal influence, but it is one of the few universities out there still with a strong Christian influence. Is it Biblically and doctrinally sound? Far from it. Never has been.
