A couple of months ago my hubby, who’s bought a newspaper from this kiosk for decades, emailed a local newspaper to ask them to cover this story. Instead, they asked him to write it. He’s never written an article but gave it a go. Now the story’s everywhere. Quite proud of him

Yesterday, we went down to Brixton tube station for the last ever day of Brixton News, one of the capital's last specialist news stands. TfL are raising the rent on the unit Pritesh Patel and his brother run from £40,000 a year to £125,000 a year, something they cannot afford.

With the closure of the WaPo book review, "no one who has anything to do with books remains employed at the paper" and the (awful) NYT is the last newspaper book review.

So apparently @AmericanAir considers them BREAKING A WHEEL a part of normal wear and tear. It's been a week of me trying to follow their claim process only to get an automated reply that they denied my claim & in person staff say they can't help. AA how can I get my wheel fixed?

She says: “It’s very obviously trying to trick people who are a bit older, who are susceptible, who think it’s real.”

Quick one @GoodwinMJ because I know you’re big on law and order: why are you sending out fake letters that pretend to be from a local woman but are printed by the London printers used by @reformparty_uk? They make no mention of being produced by your campaign, which is illegal.

The Washington Post cuts would be a tad more tolerable if the people who ran it into the ditch over the past three years were given the sack along with journalists covering sports, books, foreign, and metro. But no, Will Lewis, survives.

I'm heartbroken by the Post's decision to eliminate its books coverage. The actual fact of my job aside, the existence of a standalone books section felt like a real celebration of a culture of literacy, dialogue, and even debate. It was a place to discover and celebrate.

The Washington Post is eliminating many sections. Book World, my section, is among them.
