@Sentletse So wena u think criminals have time to pause their criminal ways cause there are protests happening? Now every crime committed in the Republic must be connected Jacinta?

@Pol_Sec_Analyst That's not gna happen, majority of South Africans are not on X and are very tolerant people. I noticed the MAGA- style talking points of "jhadist"since last year and the "we are a Christian country " nonsense.

There is a concerted effort occurring via social media to stoke ethno-religious tensions in South Africa to the point where rhetoric translates to violence against minority groups.

Opposed violence where? She encouraged people to execute citizens arrests and as a consequence people’s home were broken into because “they were looking for foreigners”. She further condone the murder of a Malawian street vendor, because “a South African was killed.” This is not a person who opposes violence but a charlatan that speaks with a forked tongue in an pathetic attempt to build plausible deniability.
Nolwazi Tusini@NolwAzi_Tusini

My position on March&March has not changed. But iqiniso lihle: even with some reports of violence, the June 30 protest was far less physically violent than many feared. This matters. @JacintaNgobese should be commended as the only March&March leader who explicitly opposed violence

@collinsndl17392 @LoveSaidNotSo @StanUrquelle He did I'm not denying it and I know I would be pissed till today too, I might sound like I'm justifying it but I think he was in a really tight political rope there was always going to be suffering with both choices

Zimbabwean politician kids are posting vlogs of flying to South Africa to buy groceries. Your own leaders are failing you and your countries and their kids even have the audacity to flash it in your face… but sure South Africans are your biggest issue.

@collinsndl17392 @LoveSaidNotSo @StanUrquelle He chose the stability of the region in the end, it was a damned if he does or damned if he doesn't situation plus we all know what a US led military intervention looks like plus Namibia, Zim and Angola were just in Congo the region was in a fragile state back then.

@collinsndl17392 @LoveSaidNotSo @StanUrquelle I don't like that madala and your anger in him protecting Mugabe is justified - both the UK and the US were lobbying hard for a UN resolution for military intervention in Zim that time, TM used all his political clout to get Russia and China to veto it.

@Sentletse You are not okay ekhanda wena shame - they were largely peaceful and contained, you need to be able to separate between criminals and protesters. Next thing you gna say citizens must not protest because criminals will be opportunist - hayi sunxila, blackmailing people like that.

Sentletse 🇿🇦🇷🇺🇵🇸🇱🇧
There were a number of people who were arrested for public violence, looting and robbery arising from the March and March incitement against foreign nationals. Yet there is an attempt to push the narrative that “protests were largely peaceful” as a dominant theme and to dismiss the recorded criminality. The IMC and Natjoint out of necessity to manage perceptions globally are also running with this theme. At the centre of this PR attempt is the refrain that government respected ‘the right to protest’. It cannot be ignored that people were harassed, intimidated, assaulted and murdered under the guise of exercising the said right. There can be no right that empowers anyone to commit crime. Unfortunately, the government has enabled this criminality. These crimes in previous instances were largely committed in the presence of the police who failed to act. The damage to the image of the country has been done and there is no amount of spin now that will remedy that. Government must take accountability for the xenophobic and tribalist thuggery that has engulfed the country. Instigators are emboldened because no action is taken against them. As a consequence, R600 million was wasted on hooliganism that could have been prevented a long time ago. Further millions are being wasted on deporting illegal immigrants, who almost always return, because of porous borders and corruption. The root cause of the problem is not being addressed. Putting a plaster on a festering wound is not solving anything.

@Pendana254 @Sentletse @mmkubayi That's always the case when tensions are this high - it is the job of the state to deploy law enforcement to do it's job. What we will not do is gaslight citizens when they are excersizing their right to protest cause criminals will take advantage. Sanukunya bafethu.
