This is not just a title written into the records, but a decision with a clear meaning: chaos, withdrawal, or tampering with the spirit of the match cannot be a path to glory. Morocco were not pushed onto the podium as a courtesy, nor were they handed the trophy as a gift. They emerged from this situation as the side that upheld its presence and its right, while the other side failed the test of discipline and responsibility. CAF’s decision did not simply change the result of a match — it redrew the entire picture: 3–0 officially, and Morocco are African champions. At that point, the discussion is no longer about controversy, but about a reality confirmed by a clear continental ruling that puts an end to all the noise that tried to overshadow the core of the matter. In the end, major titles are not decided only on the pitch, but also through respect for the laws of the game and the prestige of the competition. And today, Morocco did not just win the trophy — they also won a moment that proves discipline and composure can sometimes be more decisive than ninety minutes.

@OGxTP Here in Britain, Gen X had a grand total of 3 TV channels (which grew to 4 in 1982). The monoculture was real: we had no choice but to learn about Buster Keaton, Laurel & Hardy, black and white films, etc. And I feel more and more glad about that as time goes on.

After 170 years, Aussie Rules is still not global. Surely the league can take a hint by now? This is a complete waste of time and money which should be directed to helping struggling grass roots clubs. Smacks of looking at NFL and thinking “oh, we gotta do that too!” 🤦‍♂️

AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon is off to India 🇮🇳 The league boss will head there, along with head of strategy Walter Lee, for a week to meet with sports commissions as the AFL has India central to the next phase of making footy global. Story here 👉 afl.com.au/news/1461370

I Eat Cannibals, by Toto Coelo (1982). The only major hit for these New Wave popsters, who were renamed Total Coelo in the US to avoid confusion with the band Toto. Most people know that Ros Holness from the band was the daughter of quizmaster Bob Holness (who also played James Bond on the radio), but Bob's other daughter Carol Ann also enjoyed New Wave success under the name Nancy Nova. She also wrote for Lena Zavaroni and did backing vocals for Richard E. Grant's 1997 progressive house version of Hamlet's To Be Or Not To Be soliloquy, recorded with Orpheus. After leaving Toto Coelo Anita Mahadevan joined the ex members of Hanoi Rocks to form the band The Cherry Bombz. Showbiz can be very serendipitous...

Liverpool’s recruitment team, led by Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, is highly regarded within the game. They set their sights on Alexander Isak long before the club secured the title last April. This, along with the capture of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, was the centrepiece of a rebuild designed to elevate a title-winning team to an even higher level. All the data, as well as the eye test, told them that Isak and Liverpool were compatible, and that a player who was just about to turn 26, approaching the peak of his powers, would enhance a successful side. Instead, Isak arrived unfit, joining a team in a state of flux. Whatever his claims of “broken promises” at Newcastle United, his refusal to train in the build-up to the season has hurt everyone: his former club, himself, Liverpool and the Sweden national team, who finished bottom of their World Cup qualifying group. 📝 @OliverKay nytimes.com/athletic/68315…

🚨 Manchester City have grounds to SUE! 😤 The Premier League used Ruben Dias’ bicep to determine offside — not his armpit, which is what the rule actually states. 🤦🏻‍♂️ And another question nobody can answer: Why is Dias jumping in the image they used? 🤔 City have been ROBBED.
