Update & Reply We are thankful to Chess(com) for reaching out for the first time on April 9th and restoring access. Chess(com) says they reached out in January and we ignored them for three months. That's not true and we have proof. We never received a single email from Chess(com) in January. Not on our personal email, not on our professional one. What happened is Hostinger suspended our domain on January 15 without any communication from Chess(com) to us directly. We then went further and designed fully original hand-drawn piece sets from scratch. x.com/arya__shetty/s… —[tweet announcing custom pieces] The only other piece sets we had were from an open repository where they were tagged as license-free. The same pieces are used on other chess sites. They weren't even our defaults, just optional sets in a settings submenu. Everything else on the website is built from scratch, including our own custom chessboard library. The first direct communication from Chess(com) came on April 9th at 2:29 PM IST. It wasn't sent to us, it was forwarded through our domain registrar. The email mentioned chess pieces and board graphics but didn't specify which ones. The only possible grey area we could think of were the open source piece sets, so we removed those and replied confirming compliance by 4:59 PM IST. We replied within three hours of the email. That same night our API access was silently revoked with no warning. We never ignored anyone. You can't ignore something you never received. Every time we were made aware of a concern we acted on it immediately. We appreciate that Chess(com) has restored access. To our knowledge everything on the site is fully compliant, but if there are specific remaining items we are happy to address them.

@chesscomsupport @Chessiro_ What a lie. Chess.com never approached. Site was down. Chessiro came back again in 12 hours using open source and build their own pieces. Prove me wrong.

Our API is open because we want people to build on it. What isn't ok is copying our original piece designs, board graphics, icons, UI or other IP, and using them in a product without permission. In January, we found Chessiro was doing exactly this, so we reached out to request they stop. They ignored us for three months. We followed up again and blocked their API access. Within about 24 hours, they made the changes we'd been asking about for months. Not everything is fixed, but we've restored their access and will share a list of remaining items that still need to be addressed. We opened the API as a show of good faith, and hope they'll resolve the rest quickly. We're interested to see what they build and offer the chess community.

In the middle of the movie dhurandar, came with the expectations of a good spy thriller. Extreme disappointment - just romanticising violence, and found a hilarious way to justify demonetisation. Don’t recommend it. Cant come close to Raazi or even URI.

War is messy, war is chaos, war is media running govt instructed content (as they should), war is a lot of misinformation, war is a lot of fog. Don't look for updates constantly and allow your stress levels to jump throughout the day. Follow MEA-MOD updates, don't speculate, don't celebrate, don't commentate. More importantly don't share updates of military movement/aircrafts from your city, please remain calm. Follow SOP's when blackouts, follow instructions thats the best you can do. Be grateful that you are not the one standing at the frontline. While government transparency with citizens is important, recognise that during wartime, even public communications serve strategic purposes. Regardless of your typical political stance, this is a moment to unite behind official guidance.
