From Opaque to Onchain Finance: my journey with @ethereum I wasn't the kind of person who started coding at a young age. My love for computers began with tinkering. I loved installing different software, playing with websites, and just seeing how things worked. In fact, I hadn't written a single line of code until I started university. That all changed during my first summer at university when I built my own iPhone game. From that moment on, I was hooked and have either written or read some code every single day. I was initially very skeptical of crypto and "web3". After years of building products in traditional finance, where I helped raise over £9M and worked with some of the world's largest banks and hedge funds, I was used to an industry built on opacity. A lot of the financial world is built on having better, more protected information than the next person. My “aha!” moment with Ethereum came when I realized just how different web3 was in who wins. In web3, everything is radically transparent and composable. You don't need to ask for permission or hunt for an API, you can just use it. This resonated deeply with my love for open source and the idea of communities building together. This fundamental difference is what led me to start building in Web3. Now, I'm working on products at @tokenpagexyz , where we're focused on redefining what it means to own something in the digital world; not just buying a picture, but building real utility into digital ownership. This same principle is what's driving our current project, @yieldseekerxyz. It’s another example of a product that just wouldn't be possible in traditional finance (or web2). Our users can deposit stablecoins and have autonomous agents automatically move them between different onchain vaults to get the highest interest rate possible. Imagine if your real-world bank account offered 4% interest, but a competitor came out the next day offering 4.5%. It would be a huge hassle to move your money. In Web3, this can happen in milliseconds, without any tedious paperwork, and even autonomously via agents. For any developers out there who are still on the fence about building on Ethereum, my best advice is to start by using Web3 products. More importantly, go and explore the underlying smart contracts on a block explorer like @etherscan. It's a bit of a learning curve, but it’s so cool to look under the hood and see how everything works. Attending @ETHGlobal hackathons has been the main thing that has driven my learning and adoption of web3 development. I built my first web3 product at an EthGlobal hackathon, and I’ve tried to attend as many as I can since - even my current project, yield seeker, started at an EthGlobal hackathon I won earlier this year.

Yield Seeker is built on Ethereum. @yieldseekerxyz is a mini-app on @base that uses AI agents to hunt the best DeFi yields for idle USDC. The team was recently selected as an @ETHGlobal Spotlight project.

@krupalip55 @krishan711 Haha - I'm sure that one is possible, it's just much harder than people expect I think. Money was invented because barter economies were so much less efficient!

I'm thinking of making a list of things you should *not* try to build. There's a graveyard of ideas that I see Indie Hacker types trying to launch like every year. e.g. skill exchange/barter economy type marketplaces (sorry)
