All the work your pesticide-free garden is doing for insects can be undone by the wrong porch light.
A bright white outdoor bulb is not just a light. To many night time insects, it's a deadly trap.
Moths, beetles, flies, lacewings, and other insects get pulled toward artificial light, circle it, burn energy, miss feeding or mating time, get picked off by predators, or just die there by morning.
And a lot of those insects are the exact ones your native plants are trying to support.
The fix is not complicated. Turn off the lights you don't need, put lights on a motion sensor, aim them downward, and swap white porch lights for a warm amber or yellow light.
Amber light attracts fewer insects than harsh white light, and it's one of those crazy easy changes that actually helps.

A man in Barnstable MA speaking on illegal immigration:
Brings to mind the Quote from Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn:
“The most terrifying force of death comes from the hands of men who wanted to be left alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They do not ask for much. Just to be left alone. But when they are pushed too far, when their families, their homes, their livelihoods, or their way of life is threatened… they become the most dangerous force on earth.”

For those of us who actually grew up in LA, we're all having flashbacks to Northridge. Nithya Raman isn't though, because she grew up in India. She's only lived here a few years, so she's never been through this. God help LA when the next quake hits, if she's in charge...yikes.

At 26 years old, Andre Cherry's life changed dramatically.
Once a talented composer and college student, Andre now lives with severe neurological disabilities and requires around-the-clock care from his family. His mother and brother have devoted their lives to supporting him through a journey that has stretched their emotional, physical, and financial resources.
Andre's story is one of 50 first-hand accounts included in React19 and ICAN's recent submission to federal health agencies.
The people featured in this series represent just a few of those voices. Their stories were included alongside evidence, documentation, and testimony calling on federal health agencies to acknowledge safety signals, reform the compensation system, and provide meaningful support to those still searching for answers.
After five years, these stories can no longer be ignored.

Big update to the fraud we discussed in this video. The largest homeless NGO in LA, Weingart Center is under FEDERAL investigation and the court just REJECTED all of Weingart's attempts to dismiss the fraud and waste claims regarding their shady property deal in Cheviot Hills.
What happened? Karen Bass and Nithya Raman laundered YOUR tax dollars through the Weingart NGO to pay 2x cost on a homeless housing project from a scammer middleman; a $16M flip, for a dubious homeless project, all while evicting the seniors who lived there.
Big hat tip to Samantha Nussbaum for doing the leg work on this case and bringing some accountability to the rampant fraud in LA's Homeless Industrial Complex. Are you starting to see how the scams work?
Spencer Pratt@spencerpratt
People always ask me, “how can we fix LA? We don’t have the money!” We have the money…it’s just being stolen! You wanna fix the budget? END THE FRAUD. I will bust the scammers and put your tax dollars back to work for YOU.

That poison you put out for mice can end up inside the owl that was helping with your mouse problem for free.
The mouse eats the poison. The mouse gets slow, sick, easy to catch. The owl eats mouse. Now the poison has moved up the food chain.
Same goes for hawks, foxes, bobcats, coyotes, snakes, and other predators that spend their lives doing the thing people keep buying poison to do.
And there's another layer: your mouse poison is making the tick problem worse.
Mice aren't just annoying pantry thieves. In much of the eastern U.S., white-footed mice are one of the big animals involved in Lyme disease ecology. Young ticks feed on them, pick up the Lyme bacterium, and later those ticks can bite people.
So when you kill the predators that eat mice, you may be making your yard friendlier to the animals that help infected ticks thrive.
One owl isn't a total tick control program but a healthy yard has layers of pest control: owls, hawks, foxes, snakes, opossums, insects, birds, all doing quiet work you never see.
Poison is the shortcut that breaks the system. Instead, seal the entry points, remove the food source, use traps where needed, but don't turn the mouse into a poisoned meal for the animal that was hunting it.

For the first time, researchers have identified exactly what Roman builders were adding to their concrete to make it last for centuries....
At an unfinished building site in Pompeii, abandoned during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, archaeologists uncovered something rare: Roman concrete materials that were prepared but never mixed. That frozen moment revealed how Roman builders actually made their concrete.
Instead of mixing lime and water the way we do today, they combined quicklime with volcanic ash first, then added water. The reaction produced intense heat and left behind tiny fragments of reactive lime trapped inside the hardened concrete. When cracks later formed and water seeped in, those fragments reacted again and sealed the damage from within.
In other words, some Roman concrete was intentionally engineered to heal its own cracks — and it’s still doing it nearly 2,000 years later.

Eleven-year-old Ahmed Al-Raqab was playing on the sand outside his family’s tent in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, when an Israeli missile killed him on Wednesday.
“What was this child’s crime? He picked up a watermelon and they fired at him,” his father, Sabri, wept over his son’s body at Nasser hospital. “Is he a fighter? He’s not a fighter. He’s a child.”
Israel struck tent encampments along Gaza’s coast, where thousands of displaced families shelter at the farthest edge of the enclave. A six-year-old lost an eye in the same attack.
Since the so-called ceasefire began in October, Israel has killed at least 265 children in Gaza, roughly one a day, UNICEF says.

HOW MANY ARE TOO MANY?
Did you ever hear about Timothy’s preventable deaths? Of course not, that’s why I do this.
I’ve now posted the deaths of 1,386 people killed or allegedly killed by an illegal. MSM doesn’t report them because it doesn’t fit their narrative
Open borders = preventable deaths. To Democrats they’re just collateral damage.
Please repost so Timothy isn’t forgotten and inform the uninformed people of his preventable death.
I’m not selling anything, not monetizing this, not writing a book, not making a documentary, etc. There’s nothing in this for me. I see what’s happening to our country & trying to do something about it.
I post a photo of the victim so you can see that these preventable deaths happened to real people, to real children and families that had their lives taken from them by someone illegally in our country.

🔴 Heartbreaking:
The mother of the murdered 17 year old Louis just put out a powerful statement:
"My son, my love, my life…
Since Saturday, life has stopped for me… You fought like a lion, my love, with all the strength I know you are capable of, and I thank you, my love, for giving me the chance to walk with you all the way to the very end, my love…
You came into this world in my arms, and you left in my arms, surrounded by all your loved ones and their love… There are no goodbyes between us, my baby. You are and you will always be with me….
Mom is in warrior mode, my son. You know that I will fight with every ounce of strength I have so that justice is done for you...
I love you, my Boubou, so much that my heart no longer knows how to beat since its metronome has gone… Make me dance with God and the angels to your music, my love."

They spent $5.5M of your tax dollars on this. For 100 beds. That's $55K per bed. If you were to simply give somebody $55K, they could rent out a room in Van Nuys for 5 years. But then no contractor or NGO is getting their beak wet on the transaction. See the scam yet?
