I think there is a very good case to be made that Cale Makar is the best defenceman in the world, but I do not think there is a very good case to be made that he should win the Norris Trophy this season

@Crucifixio They cater to different audiences. WWE is more of an advertisement vehicle at this point than an entertainment product, and while that brings it money, it doesn’t make for a very fun watch. At some point, the decline in quality will start to affect their bottom line.

@lagging3k And by that rationale, what’s wrong with it? The object of a business is to MAKE MONEY. People disparage WWE and use all types of creative language to make it seem “less than” AEW but it’s still more successful by LEAPS and BOUNDS and that’s the ENTIRE POINT.

Roman Reigns says there is no true competition for WWE. “There’s no true competition for us, there’s other promotions, there’s other places to work in wrestling. But if you want to be in the top show, if you want to be considered at the very tippy top of the mountain, you have to be in WWE. And I’ve done everything you can do there, but you can still continue to dominate the scene. You can still be the number one guy. @Crucifixio lol Nickelodeon was watched by over 100 million households during it’s peak and sold a heck of a lot of merch. There’s nothing wrong with being Nickelodeon. But you have to acknowledge that it’s for children.

@lagging3k Remind me: was Nickelodeon ever publicly traded? Did Nickelodeon have deals with ESPN and Netflix? Did Nickelodeon consistently sell out ARENAS, pull in millions in TV ratings and sell mountains of merchandise? Does AEW do any of this? No? Then they’re not competition.
