DDH fan Dylan Black punched his tag last Monday night on an Ohio stud! Dylan had three different encounters with him throughout the season before finally connecting on the fourth. After a hunt last Saturday, Dylan hung a new tree stand on the only tree with any sort of cover left on it as a snowstorm started moving in. He took a gamble with this deer in mind, and it paid off. Monday night it all came together and the buck was on his feet after a winter snowstorm dumped 15+ inches on the ground. ❄️ The new stand location was perfect, and he came in right where Dylan had hoped. Congrats, Dylan!

Six Franklin County boys saw them monks walking for peace on TV and got inspired like they’d just watched a motivational movie on TNT. No foolin, they genuinely respected it. The discipline. The calm. The miles. The purpose. Then they heard that bad weather was coming in. And being who they are… they said, “Ain’t no way we lettin them walk in that.” So they went to pick the monks up in what can only be described as the most Franklin County rescue vehicle possible, a jacked up Super Duty Chevy 3500 dually sittin on 50s, loud enough to shake the pine trees and so lifted it should come with its own weather report from up there. After they scooped them up, they swung by Moss Foods for some fresh veggies… then Granny’s Drive In for a couple large sweet teas… then Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen for a bowl of grits, because you know monks are vegan. Then they eased on down Bickett Blvd like they was on an official peace mission… just with mud tires. And if the monks ever needed help again, them Franklin County boys were ready, not with speeches, not with big talk, but with a tailgate, a step bar, and that lifted Chevy 3500 sittin there like: “Hop on in. We ain’t lettin peace freeze out here.” That’s Eastern North Carolina hospitality, just delivered by a few good ole boys in a truck that looks like it runs on diesel, faith, and unspoken tax refunds.
