@jonoblain If you make this change in Feb when he left Marseille it makes sense - enough time to get the 3 or 4 wins and at same time assess the squad before the transfer window. Such a massive risk in this context though

@mattspiro We are going to see a load of low quality games and injuries at this World Cup which in turn will lead to lower quality domestic football and stretched squads next season. There is just not enough recovery time for the players

Dembélé & Raphinha both picked up injuries in last night's pointless France-Brazil friendly in Boston. Worse news: Strasbourg's fantastic striker Joaquin Panichelli (Ligue 1's top scorer) has sustained a serious knee injury with Argentina. Out of World Cup. Gutted for him.

@DougieCritchley Realistically who is going to pay north of £100m for him so that they don’t book a loss. He’s stuck and he lost any leverage by signing such a long contract.
Most of the others those long contracts are being bought to trade in the future so it’s an entirely different scenario

The Enzo Fernandez situation feels absolutely massive.
His contract at Chelsea has 6 years left to run.
21 Blues players have contracts that run until at least 2030.
If Chelsea allow one of their vice-captains, a player that has contributed 44 goals in all competitions since the start of last season, a figure topped only by Bruno Fernandes amongst Premier League midfielders...
To push for a move and get one...
What sort of message does it send to the rest of the squad about the seriousness of those deals and the project as a whole?

@adamdnathan Bringing in a manager wedded to three at the back with a squad not set up to play that way was madness. They’d seen United struggle for the exact same reason and still didn’t learn

If you were hiring an interim to do an emergency job in any business you’d want someone who:-
-knows the environment
-will quickly get respect from the staff
-is known for building morale and confidence amongst the workforce to get the best out of them.

@Kabuk1 @garythegooner56 It’s technically the same category as our seat but we’ve been moved from next of centre in the West to upper tier clock end so it’s just a completely different way of watching a game. If they’d moved us as close to like for like I wouldn’t have minded as much

Bought my ticket for Bayer Leverkusen. Cost me £86. Not so long ago that would have been included as part of my season ticket as one of the 7 cup games. I remember when the club changed to 4 them trying to justify what a good deal it was for us

@LeGrove Interestingly, when I analysed the long list of dodgy decisions awarded against us, he never really stood out when he reffed us. Only when Tierney was on VAR was he problematic. This is from over a year ago but he’s not officiated us in that time either!

Looking at the list, a few things stood out… • Most officials are fine actually. A few dodgy calls but nothing out of the ordinary • There are officials from the past who were seriously suspect (Marriner, Dean) • A few active ones have a red flag (Attwell, Kavangh, England, Salisbury) 🚩 • 3 active officials are proper danger men though: Tierney when he is the VAR 💀 Oliver when he is the Ref 💀💀 Gillett when he is the Ref or VAR 💀💀💀 When they’re officiating, Arsenal get absurdly horrific decisions.

Arsenal have won 76% of their games this season. Barcelona have won 80%. Bayern 84%.

I’m now completely done with Vicario, don’t want to see him again. Another poor effort for the first goal, deflection or not that’s basic, doesn’t come for a single cross and his distribution is getting worse. Also does more explaining than Arsenal fans do on social media. Enough

@adamdnathan A braver keeper is 3 or 4 yards further off his line and saves that first one comfortably, deflection or not. As he’s lost confidence he’s retreated into his goal. I couldn’t tell you what foot he is, he kicks with no authority just loops in the air
