High crime. High cost of living. Broken trust in government. That’s the “status quo” in Connecticut. I’m running for Lt. Governor to make our state safer. To make our state affordable. To hold our state government accountable. Join me, and we'll change the status quo.

🚨🚨On a Friday night 5/30, HB5002 was intentionally called at 8PM, when most of #connecticut residents were not paying attention and just living their lives or sleeping, then early Saturday morning at 2AM, HB5002 PASSED in the Senate - the most sweeping overreaching state legislation in over 30 years with massive one size fits all rezoning and as of right development mandates and developer handouts. Here was the vote. Elections have consequences. Will residents wake up to what the majority leadership did? 😢Remains to be seen....

A pattern of scandals and mismanagement in state government has created Connecticut's Culture of Corruption, which is propped up and ignored by Democrats from the governor to legislative leaders and a slew of state officials and contractors. In a press conference Thursday, Republicans exposed the series of ethical lapses in the state that erode public trust, calling for an expansion of the state's Inspector General (IG) role to investigate this waste, fraud, and abuse. Nixed audits, voter and election fraud, reckless spending, state vehicle misuses, school construction scandals, Medicaid fraud, phony grant allocation processes, and more plague a system run entirely on one-party rule. Taxpayers should have more faith in their government in the thick of its state budget negotiations, but they're met with deafening silence from the Lamont Administration and Democrat leaders.

@CTGOP @CTDems Here’s an idea- take out all the expenses that should NOT be in the STF so it can fund the projects it was intended for.

Now, @CTDems are looking to tax car sharing services and add a fee to each retail delivery made. This means even higher prices for services like Uber Eats and GrubHub. CT is already among the most expensive states to live in, and the last thing we need is more taxes and fees.

The General Assembly passed “emergency” bills with millions of spending. But there were no public hearings. This is wrong: CT’s people should’ve had the opportunity to weigh in. It’s their money after all

INSANITY: The Connecticut Cannibal today was granted conditional release by the Psychiatric Review Board following an appeal hearing. Rep. Devin Carney, ranking House Republican on government oversight, decried the board's decision, "to trust an insane murderer's promise to not reoffend is far too risky of an agreement to make. Prioritizing the overall safety of our residents should always take precedent and today's decision is a failure of justice for the family of Angel Gonzalez and the man himself, whom Smith murdered and cannibalized only 13 years ago. What a travesty." Rep. Carney proposed legislation this year to combat this, demanding increased scrutiny by the Psychiatric Review Board in its review of cases which claim "insanity".

A midnight deal was struck between the Governor and legislative Democrats to secure the reappointment of the chairwoman who has raised your electric rates for the past six years. We cannot believe the Governor orchestrated this on the backs of ratepayers… #electricrates #connecticut

From @WSJopinion: Kamala Harris has presented herself as new based largely on her biography. But as far as policies and coalition go, she represents more of the same, and not merely of the last four years. on.wsj.com/4huQXD0

💡For everyone with sticker shock over their recent electric bills, CT Republicans warned of high costs and hidden fees and proposed solutions (which were voted down by Democrats) to reduce this burden on CT residents during the 2024 Session. Watch here: ct-n.com/ctnplayer.asp?…

Perhaps also mentioning that CT has gas taxes that the other states do NOT have. Also worth mentioning the Special Transportation Fund - where gas tax $ goes, also pays for pay and benefits - healthcare and retiree - for all DOT, DMV employees. #getreal #notolls #moneygrab
CTGOP@CTGOP

Despite the additional tax being resoundingly rejected by CT, @CTDems are still determined to implement tolling. Democrats want any & every tax (gas taxes, mileage taxes, tolls, TCI additional gas taxes, et al.) to take every penny of your money they can get their hands on.

“CT Democrats criticized CT Republicans for expressing “lectern-pounding” outrage. We’re “pounding the lecterns” because we’re the voice of the middle&working-class families — and they’re fed up & frustrated by their gov’t, controlled by Democrats, which doesn’t listen to them.”
