A brother and sister lived in a house with more rooms than they needed. Every morning the sister cleaned and every afternoon the brother read. They were happy. One Tuesday the brother heard a sound from the back hallway and closed the door. They did not discuss it. They ate dinner in the kitchen instead of the dining room. They never said what they heard. When asked they said the house was fine. They said they simply preferred to live somewhere smaller.
