So 7 % for Restore Britain in Makerfield. Am i dissapointed? Only slightly. I was hoping for double figures. I thought 15% would be seismic, but for a 4 month old party im such a hotly contested seat i think its still pretty remarkable. I think the ground game and the campaigning was a credit to everyone involved in Restore. Leaflets were on point, and everyone was very professional. What this result does highlight is how hard we are going to have to work in the next 3 years to compete. This platform has very little bearing on what happens out there. A lot of the country are still politically asleep or unsure. And its going to take a monumental effort by a lot of people on the doorstep to win. But thats the only place it can be won. Talking to people on the door. Thats why we got the votes we got. Some of the nonsense polls and misinformation spread on this platform from all parties supporters was quite frankly embarassing. Reforms splitting the vote campaign and attacking Restore clearly didnt work. And from what i learned on the doorstep is, that a hell of a lot of people who voted Burnham or Reform, are there to be convinced. I dont think there is a lot of conviction in their votes. But neither Restore or Reform can win a general election without convincing a good chunk of the 40% who dont vote, and i definitely know Restore are the only ones that can tap into them. They do not trust anyone they have already heard of, some of them are that far gone that they wont even give a new party a go. But a lot were interested, and with a positive message can be persuaded.

Slightly dissapointing, but on the other hand quite remarkable given the party is just over 4 months old. Onwards and upwards. 3 Reform got nowhere near. I’ve just been checked over by an ambulance after a group of foreign lads came up behind me while I was doing a debate stand, dragged me to the ground, and kicked and punched me. I passed out halfway through and don’t remember everything that happened. From what I can recall, it started while I was sitting down, and they took some of my equipment during the assault. The police arrived about five minutes after the assault, recovering as much as they could. One of my cameras exploded when they tried to seize it, or steal it. Instead of running away with it, they destroyed it, causing the battery to explode. However, I have the SD card, and we'll be checking whether the footage is still there so they can identify what actually happened. Members from Stand Up to Racism were counter-protesting, and they were egging them on and filming it. The police did nothing to stop the counter-protesters or retrieve the footage to see what actually happened. I’ll be going to the hospital now, as I have a cut and a number of marks on my neck, bruises on my face and the top of my head, and cuts running down my back.
