Tonight Congress is voting on a bill to deregulate boxing. It's being pushed by Dana White and his Saudi Arabian UFC investors. The bill would gut worker protections for boxers and remake the sport in the UFC’s image — boxers could become underpaid, and under-protected.

Unionize fighters. Unionize.

With the news of the WNBA successfully negotiating a new deal, it’s worth putting their numbers next to the UFC. A few things immediately stand out… The WNBA, a league that was losing money as recently as 2024, just secured a 354% minimum salary increase overnight. From $66,079 ➝ $300,000+ In one deal. Meanwhile, the UFC, a $12 Billion organization that generated about $1.5 Billion in revenue in 2025 with roughly 57% margins, still pays its lowest tier fighters $12,000 per fight. That number hasn’t meaningfully changed in over a decade. A 2021 pay analysis found 19% of UFC fighters earned less than about $25,000 annually. Here’s where it gets even sharper: ⛹🏼‍♀️Basketball WNBA players now capture about 20% of league revenue 👊🏼 UFC fighters sit at 15 to 18%, despite massive revenue growth ⛹🏼‍♀️WNBA minimum: $300,000 per season 👊🏼 UFC minimum: $12,000 per fight, before fight expenses ⛹🏼‍♀️ WNBA players own their NIL. Caitlin Clark’s Nike deal is hers. 👊🏼 UFC controls NIL in perpetuity. Fighters get flat fees. Not allowed their own sponsors when fighting. The difference isn’t revenue. It isn’t popularity. It’s structure. The WNBA has a union. The WNBPA held the line for 17 months, threatened a strike, and won. UFC fighters, classified as independent contractors, have no union no collective bargaining no real leverage A league a fraction of the size just delivered 25x higher minimum pay. That’s not a coincidence. Will we ever see the fighters form a union? 🤔 📊 Full breakdown in the graphics above Source: WNBA/WNBPA CBA March 2026 · TKO Group Holdings 2025 Earnings

@MMAFA @ChrisBMMA Simply incorrect. The NLRB would decide if fighters are employees or independent contractors based on a multi factor analysis. Labels do not control.

@lkmiddleb @ChrisBMMA It is. Independent contractors cannot unionize or bargain together. That would be collusion. Fighters cannot be employees.

There's no better time than now for UFC fighters to get paid what they're worth. Also idk why I turned into Samuel L Jackson in a Capital One commercial halfway through

@MMAFA @ChrisBMMA MMAFA has done wonderful things for the fighters through the lawsuits. Kudos. Very well done. It is, however, not illegal for fighters to unionize.

@lkmiddleb @ChrisBMMA Never mind that it is literally illegal fighters, and that would immunize the UFC from antitrust liability. Still amazingly wrong Lucas.

Congrats to the women of the WNBA. Way to stick together when it matters. Take note, professional facepunchers.

Luke is correct. Following the Reebok deal, fighters were highly motivated around 2016 to effectuate change. The Professional Fighters Association (PFA) had legitimate support from active fighters shortly after its launch.

I have. I saw it after the Reebok deal. The idea this level of rage or pushback is new is total and complete fantasy. People want to say this is new and different because there's a new generation of fighters/fans clinging to delusion This Time Is Different. It is not.

This really is starting to feel like 2016, when fighters were just outraged at the Reebok deal and the news that the UFC sold for $4B. Now we got the $7.7B Paramount deal and Zuffa Boxing purses. Of course, that outrage barely lasted into 2017.

Article: Investors Hangout Author: Evelyn Baker Game Plan for Mechanics and Technicians "What’s intriguing about AMFA's new dynamics is the way they handle potential turbulence. This isn’t their first rodeo; they’ve actively protected jobs through thick and thin—hello, COVID-19 and the fallout from mergers? In an industry rife with uncertainty, AMFA's leadership under Clark shows a tenacity that many might overlook. Going forward, preparing the groundwork for negotiations isn’t just on the agenda. It’s a necessity. Every technician knows that a weak contract today can mean a catastrophic gap in benefits down the line." Impact on the Overall Aviation Sector "For all the insiders who thought this moment wouldn’t come, AMFA has defied the odds. Unlike some larger unions, they stress independence and cater specifically to maintenance professionals' needs. This isn’t just about better wages—they're raising the bar for professional acknowledgment in an increasingly cutthroat industry. In case you weren’t keeping score, this win opens dialogue and sets a precedent that other trades may consider replicating." Support Article Link: investorshangout.com/amfas-union-vi…

Pawling fought hard without our starting center but came up just short against Briarcliff in first round of the playoffs. I finished with 29 PTS; 3 REB; 2 AST; 3 STL; and 2 BLK. Thanks to my teammates for a fun season. Now time for spring AAU and baseball. @mosesk225 @KDJmedia1

After an apparently "revolt" by Ali Abdelaziz, Dominance MMA is refusing to comply with discovery requests in Johnson v Zuffa. Plaintiffs are asking court to hold Dominance in contempt, compel production, and order Dominance to pay legal fees.

We, the employees of the NLRB, are calling on members of Congress to reject the Senate’s proposed funding deal unless it includes meaningful reforms for ICE and CBP’s operations. Our Union has never endorsed a government shutdown before. But we believe we have no other choice.

UAW@UAW·
🚨 STATEMENT FROM UAW PRESIDENT SHAWN FAIN ON THE KILLING OF ALEX PRETTI 🚨 “The UAW stands in solidarity with the family and loved ones of our fallen union brother Alex Pretti and all those standing up for justice in Minneapolis and beyond. Alex Pretti was an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs hospital, and a member of AFGE Local 3669. He was a fellow union member doing what UAW members do all the time - heeding a call for solidarity and exercising his Constitutional rights. For that, he was killed in the street. Our union mourns his loss and our thoughts are with his family, his union, and his community. As proud trade unionists, we value our Constitutional freedoms. The right to free speech and the right to protest are core to who we are as Americans and as union members. The killing of peaceful protesters like Alex Pretti threatens our rights and our Constitution. In moments like these, the labor movement must not be silent. Unions in Minnesota took action last Friday, January 23, by participating in a general strike and protested across the state. If the right to protest or speak freely is under attack, then our rights as workers are not safe. Our freedom to strike, or to walk a picket line to win a better life, may be threatened next.”
