@lora62804 @ericmetaxas @snarky_side Gideons handed out those bibles to soldiers. It was not made by US government or distributed by them. My grandfather fought in WW2 Normandy beach and African horn v Rommel. Great history piece but wanted to put it in correct context for this thread.

Flight delayed on tarmac. Missed our connection. Based on the other flights available, which were also delayed, and the fact that taking a flight tomorrow would require getting back into a security line stretching seemingly for miles, we decided to get a car and drive five hours to our destination. That’s how bad air travel is right now. Driving is faster. Air travel is awful in this country. People don’t realize just how much it sucks unless they have to do it a lot. It’s not just TSA. Flight delays. Air traffic control issues. Service is even worse than usual. Every airport is crowded and slow and worn down and dirty. Everyone brings their dogs. The term “service animal” doesn’t mean anything anymore. Air travel used to be luxurious. People used to wear suits. Working for an airline was prestigious. The employees took it seriously. It sucks now. It’s terrible. This is the kind of thing our leaders should be fixing. Because the most frustrating thing is that it is so eminently fixable. If only anyone bothered to try.

I hate that they made David illegitimate and the "son of an enemy" and Jesse's shame. It seems to me that one motivation would be to reduce the Jewishness of The City of David by making David not really Jewish. As for the part you mentioned, I love that they put scripture in the dialogue with Samuel commenting on the bleating of sheep and the lowing of oxen.

I know it’s been around for a bit, but I just watched an episode of House of David for the first time. I expected the writers might take a shortcut when Samuel arrived to deliver the news to King Saul that God had rejected him as king due to his failure to obey God’s command to wipe out the Amalekites completely, but wow, they even included Samuel’s hacking of Agag. As the prophet walked away, spattered with blood, he said, “God will not be mocked.” What a brutal reminder of God’s holiness and the high cost of disobedience.

Meanwhile, Senator Thune was gaslighting everyone, claiming they couldn't make Democrats do a talking filibuster because "they didn't have the votes." The truth?
