✝️ WHY THE FIRE IS LIT ON HOLY SATURDAY NIGHT (THE SYMBOLISM THAT WILL SHAKE YOU) ____________________ Before the Easter Vigil begins… 👉 The Church is in darkness. 👉 The altar is bare. 👉 The tabernacle is empty. And then, outside… 👉 A fire is lit. Not inside the church. Not on the altar. 👉 Outside. In the darkness. Why? ✝️ 1. LIGHT BURSTS INTO DARKNESS Holy Saturday begins in silence and darkness. Because: 👉 The world is still waiting. 👉 Christ is still in the tomb. Then suddenly… 👉 Fire appears. This is not decoration. 👉 It is a proclamation: 👉 Light has returned. ✝️ 2. THIS FIRE REPRESENTS CHRIST HIMSELF From that fire… 👉 The Paschal Candle is lit. And the priest declares: 👉 “May the light of Christ rise in glory…” That flame is not just fire. 👉 It represents: Christ rising from the dead Christ conquering darkness Christ bringing life where there was death So when that candle enters the dark church… 👉 It is the Resurrection entering the world. ✝️ 3. CREATION IS USED TO ANNOUNCE REDEMPTION Why fire? Because from the beginning: God spoke light into existence (Genesis 1:3) Fire revealed God to Moses (Exodus 3:2) Fire guided Israel (Exodus 13:21) Now again: 👉 God uses fire to reveal Himself. But this time… 👉 Not as a sign… but as fulfillment. ✝️ 4. THE FIRE IS NEW, BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS NEW Traditionally, this is called: 👉 The New Fire Why? Because the Resurrection is not a continuation. 👉 It is a new creation. Sin is defeated Death is broken Humanity is restored So the Church does not reuse an old flame. 👉 It lights a new one. ✝️ 5. FROM ONE FLAME… THE WHOLE CHURCH IS LIT From the Paschal Candle: One candle is lit Then another Then another Until the whole church is filled with light. This is not accidental. 👉 It means: 👉 The light of Christ is meant to spread. From Christ To the Church To the world ✝️ 6. DARKNESS NEVER HAD THE FINAL WORD At the start: 👉 Darkness fills everything. But it cannot stop the flame. And once the light enters: 👉 Darkness does not fight it. 👉 It disappears. This is the message: 👉 The Resurrection does not negotiate with darkness. It destroys it. ✝️ FINAL MESSAGE Why do we light fire on Holy Saturday night? Because: 👉 Christ is the Light 👉 The tomb is no longer the end 👉 A new creation has begun That fire is not just burning wood. 👉 It is announcing: 👉 Death is over. Light has won. Christ is risen. The entire Easter Vigil begins outside… because the Resurrection did not start in churches, it started in a tomb, in the dark, when the world was not watching.

She and her husband grabbed dual citizenship, packed up the kids, and couldn't stop gushing about their big move to Mexico. "Amazing country! Incredible food! 'Affordable' healthcare!" She even mocked her husband’s Mexican family for buying into "American propaganda" when they warned them not to go. Fast-forward less than two months: Their son got seriously sick.
