@tokunbo_wahab Lagos is far ahead of the others. If any place should be talking about independence and becoming its own country, it would be Lagos, because it clearly has the capacity to stand on its own, not those who celebrate ordinary water fountains and Christmas light.

As part of our sustained efforts to eliminate open defecation and improve public sanitation across Lagos State, we currently have 1,710 functioning public toilets strategically located across the state for residents and visitors. However, government cannot do this alone. We are encouraging businesses such as filling stations, banks, eateries, and other public-facing facilities to make their restrooms accessible to the public where possible. This collaborative approach will significantly complement government efforts and expand access to sanitation facilities across the state. At the same time, we continue to enforce environmental sanitation laws. Individuals caught engaging in open defecation are being arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law. These measures are necessary to protect public health, preserve dignity, and maintain a cleaner environment for all. Access to sanitation is a shared responsibility. While government continues to expand infrastructure, residents and businesses must also play their part in ensuring Lagos remains clean, safe, and habitable. #CleanerLagos #GreaterLagos

BREAKING: Our records show murder suspect as ‘Matthew Chukuemeka Adebiyi', say UK police The United Kingdom (UK) Metropolitan Police says its records identify the Nigerian man recently extradited to the country over murder allegation as “Matthew Chukuemeka Adebiyi.” In an email response sent to TheCable on Friday evening, the UK police confirmed that the suspect’s name is “Chukuemeka”, which confirms the earlier statement published by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). thecable.ng/breaking-our-r…

Crime has no tribe, justice has no ethnicity. Following Matthew Chukwuemeka Adebiyi’s extradition to the UK, his international passport and official records confirm that his mother is Igbo and his father is Yoruba. Portraying murder and drug trafficking charges as tribal issues is both inaccurate and potentially harmful. Matthew did not flee the UK because of his ethnicity. Joshua Boadu's murder was not motivated by ethnic factors. The Nigeria Police Force did not facilitate this extradition on the basis of ethnicity. Justice has been served. Tribal identity should not influence legal proceedings. In this case, the facts are clear: a fugitive, a court order, and accountability.

He fled to Nigeria, thinking he would be safe. He was wrong. In June 2018, Joshua Boadu was murdered in the United Kingdom. The suspect, Matthew Chukwuemeka Adebiyi, escaped to Nigeria, thinking that being far away would keep him from facing justice. For six years, he believed he was safe. But those years would be his last spent in freedom. After UK authorities made a formal extradition request in September 2024, INTERPOL NCB Abuja responded quickly. Adebiyi was arrested on January 23, 2025, and extradition proceedings started at the Federal High Court in Lagos. On February 16, 2026, Justice A.O. Faji approved the extradition. On April 14, 2026, at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, he was handed over to UK law enforcement. He finally faced the justice he had tried to avoid. He also faces charges of supplying crack cocaine in the UK between 2017 and 2018. Joshua Boadu's family waited nearly eight years for this day. Today, the Nigeria Police Force and INTERPOL NCB Abuja made it possible. The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has a clear message: Nigeria is not a hiding place. It is not a refuge for fugitives. No border, distance or time will stop the Force from working with the global community to deliver justice. No matter where you go, justice will find you.

This guy has been the master mind behind cows destroying my plantain farm and ponds. I caught him and took him to the Amotekun office, the way they related to him and called his boss has given me the answer I needed. They asked the guy for his boss's name before dialling his no from their phone, my moral died immediately.. with no statement or anything, they told me to return him to the farm to continue watching over the cows that I should come back the second day!!! Omohh If you have the opportunity to leave this country, please do!!!

Shan George wrote: "Many Nigerians hv travelled abroad in order to give birth to their children, so that d children will be citizens of such cities/countries, like America, London etc. And that's ok and awesome. My question is, why can't a Nigerian that is Igbo, born and brought up in Lagos, Kano, Calabar, etc, be a certified citizen of that place? A Nigerian can become citizen in another country, run elections, win and lead. But that can't happy in Nigeria to Nigeria? Oyino nobi our problem, na we hate each other too much, for whatever reasons, and it's highly preposterous. Bitterleaves In High Places. God help us. #Shangeorge #SundayBlessings #NewWeekGrace #onelove Dear Shan You have stated it so simply that the undiscerning can easily agree with your type of thinking. But wait a minute. You are a Nigerian, ain't you? Before then you are IBO judging from your accent, manners and style of thinking. You will ALWAYS be IBO forever and ever. It wasn't determined by you but the circumstance of your birth. What you can alter is your CITIZENSHIP but NEVER YOUR ANCESTRY. When you as an Ibo woman go to the UK to give birth what you get for your child or children is BRITISH CITIZENSHIP and not ancestry. That child or those children of yours will NEVER EVER be called or known as English and neither can they be Scottish, Welsh or Irish. They will ALWAYS be BRITISH CITIZENS of Nigeria Ibo dissent. And they can actually lose the citizenship of the English, Scottish, Irish or Welsh think they are constituting a nuisance on their lands. The only place you have the kind of madness you dream of is in the United States and that is because the genocidal controllers of the United States STOLE THE ANCESTRAL LANDS of another people so they wouldn't mind and increasing population of people like you to join them maintain their hold. In Nigeria the FACT of your birth or ancestry already guarantees you NIGERIAN CITIZENSHIP just as any other person from Ghana born in Lagos can get the Nigerian Citizenship of he some wishes. It is very disingenuous and infact very wickedly criminal of you to say and deliberately confuse INDIGENESHIP WITH CITIZENSHIP. INDIGENESHIP is tied to ANCESTRY. It is tied to land and long history of lineage, Ancestors , Spirituality etc CITIZENSHIP is about the circumstances of your birth within the geographical expression of any country. It is a document which identifies your place of birth or choice of Nationality. It never confers on you Indigeneship status of any tribe or ethnicity in that country, at least not automatically unless perhaps you have stayed and seen to have CONVINCINGLY ASSIMILATED. So I ask you why do you as AN IBO WOMAN need to have YORUBA or any other ANCESTRY???? Why? I know for a FACT that Ibos don't ASSIMILATE but try to REPLACE. Look at the Rhodes-Vivour family for example. Garnet Rhodes-Vivour came to Lagos as 100% Ibo man. He married a lady who was accepted as Yoruba. His first son was named Akinwunmi, Akinwunmi got Wale and Wale got the one calls himself Gbadebo. Till today that Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour THINKS, ACTS, BEHAVES, SPEAKS AND EATS IBO. his mother and wife are IBOS..He openly identified with IBO IPOB, IPOB #EndSARS and IPOB Obidient Movement. He openly denigrates Yoruba leaders aans culture and supports anything IBO against the interest of Lagos. Is that one a Yoruba or Àwóri man! NEVER!!! Is that what you want, the reason you need Yoruba INDIGENESHIP? You want to be IBO in Yoruba land to live Ibo culture, speak your Ibo language, influence our Demographic Social,Political and Economic balances and before we know it Yoruba land can become Ibo land? You want to REPLACE US. Onyeochi. And it has happened before. You did it against the IBIBIOS until Ibibio land is today's Ibo Abia State. You did it against the IJAWS until OPOBO is still a subject of serious acrimony between the two of you....\

@BalogunKakanfo1 @Gbolahanguitar2 Her statement shows she was majorly concerned about the assimilation of the Ibo into other ethnic groups. Which portrays them as the desperate ones, whose region has nothing tangible, or important enough, to make it sought after by others.

The extradition followed a formal request by United Kingdom authorities in September 2024 to locate, arrest, and extradite the fugitive over his alleged involvement in the murder of one Joshua Boadu on 18th June 2018, after which he fled to Nigeria to evade arrest. He was also alleged to have been involved in the supply of crack cocaine, a Class-A controlled drug, between October 2017 and March 2018 in the United Kingdom. The suspect was arrested on 23rd January 2025 by operatives of the INTERPOL NCB Abuja, following which extradition proceedings were initiated at the Federal High Court, Lagos Judicial Division, in Suit No. FHC/L/CS/416/2025.
