Please review Dr. Amy S. F. Lutz’s public statements and consider the real-world harm caused not simply by expressing skepticism toward non-traditional communication methods, but by rhetoric that demeans and discredits the families, caregivers, and nonspeaking individuals who find these methods meaningful and life-changing.
Publicly portraying supporters of these approaches as desperate, gullible, or participants in an elaborate hoax contributes to stigma, silences voices, and undermines the dignity of people seeking communication access.
We urge the University of Pennsylvania to evaluate whether these public representations align with its commitments to disability inclusion, academic integrity, and responsible scholarship.
We also urge the Autism Parenting Summit to reconsider whether Dr. Lutz’s messaging reflects the values it wishes to elevate on a platform reaching more than 60,000 families, caregivers, and professionals, and to ensure that discussions involving communication access include balanced perspectives, lived experience, and the voices of nonspeaking communicators themselves.
Communication is a human right. All people deserve dignity, access, and the presumption of competence.

Looks like @NCSAutismOrg unfollowed me after this post.
Don't claim to represent those affected by & impacted by severe autism when you are aggressively dividing the community.
Spelling is a really good thing & for whatever reason you are on a mission to undermine it.
It's truly puzzling.

"When asked whether she would stop speaking out, Amy Lutz replied: “Writing aggressive emails will not stop my anti-FC efforts,..." Amy believes in Electroshock Therapy and had it used on her son. I think it seems barbaric. She doesn't like the stigma attached to it. Yet, she is on a campaign to stigmatize spelling under the guise of pretending to care about the "science". But, who am I to police what Amy does with her child? And who is she to police what other families do with their children? She has said ECT is "miraculous" and "transformative". Sure sounds like what so many families are finding with Spelling. 🤔 What is it with these moms who have it out for spelling?

@victormarx DECLINED the @DenverChannel @denverpost @CPRNews Debate.
Again.
While one-party Democrat control is driving Colorado in the wrong direction, the guy who wants to be Governor still won’t show up and answer questions.
His own consultants know what happens when he goes off script. That’s why they keep him in controlled rooms and away from debate stages.
Colorado cannot afford someone who is unprepared, afraid to debate, and unable to defend his own ideas without handlers standing around him.
Victor Marx is unfit, unqualified, and not ready to be Governor. Period.
I’m ready on Day One to clean up the mess Democrats have made of this state.

Thank you to @DougCoCitizenry, Douglas County Republican Women, @LincolnClubofCO, @douglascountyyr , @MandyConnell and @deborahflora1 for hosting tonight’s forum.
Tonight gave voters a chance to see the candidates side-by-side and hear directly from us about the future of Colorado.
After eight years of one-party Democrat control, we cannot afford a Governor learning on the job, avoiding tough questions, or staying in controlled settings instead of standing in front of voters.
Colorado needs someone ready to govern on Day One.
That’s what I brought tonight, real experience, real solutions, and a record of delivering conservative results.
Voters saw the difference.

As someone who lost my healthy husband to a Zoloft-induced suicide in 2003 after he was prescribed the drug for insomnia, sued Pfizer, reviewed internal FDA and drug company documents, helped push for the black box suicide warnings, and later served 9 years on the FDA Psychopharmacologic Drugs Advisory Committee, I can assure you overmedicalization is very real.
Antidepressant prescriptions have gotten out of control.
Trust me, the system is built to promote benefits and downplay harms.

70% of veterans in the VA system are on a psychiatric medication.
It is widely understood that these medications are dangerous to stop using - and there is currently no established protocol to safely withdraw.
This will help millions of people.
