Glad to witness the MoU Signing between Government of Meghalaya and @Starlink India. Over the past 8 years, we have strengthened infrastructure, embraced technology, and improved governance, reducing processes that once took 30 days to just 3 days. Yet, connecting our remotest schools, health centres, and communities remains a challenge. Our partnership to introduce advanced satellite connectivity technology marks an important step toward bridging this gap. This initiative will help save lives through better healthcare access, improve learning opportunities for students, and enhance livelihoods for farmers and rural communities. We are also committed to transforming Shillong into a hub for IT and technology in the Northeast, creating opportunities for our talented youth and building a strong digital ecosystem for the future. Meghalaya has seen credible transformation through technology and we are hopeful that this collaboration will help us reach the remotest corners of our state and make a real difference in people’s lives. Glad to witness Meghalaya shining bright at the India AI Impact Conference at Bharat Mandapam, one of the world’s largest gatherings on Artificial Intelligence, proudly hosted by India! The Meghalaya Pavilion stood tall, showcasing the innovation, ambition, and technological spirit of our state. From cutting-edge AI startups to visionary institutions, Meghalaya made a powerful statement on the global stage. A proud moment as the IT & Communications Department, Government of Meghalaya, State GIS & UAV Centre (MBDA), Climate Change Centre (MBDA), Sirobilt, Shamrock AI, Ruralnomics (PRIME Startup), Edviseme (PRIME Startup), and USTM Meghalaya came together to demonstrate how AI can transform governance, climate action, rural economies, education, and entrepreneurship. This is not just participation, this is leadership from the Northeast in the AI revolution. Congratulations to Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi for the grand success of this landmark summit and heartfelt thanks to Hon’ble Union Minister of Electronics & IT Sh. @AshwiniVaishnaw for the opportunity.

I believe the decline of #niftyIT due to ‘SaaSpocalypse’ is temporary, but the irony is little weird. The service companies who were joining the bandwagon of AI to attract more customers for value offerings, suddenly realize the customers don't need their basic offerings.

Reviewed the progress of the Local Managed Connectivity (LMC) project and its alignment with our State Wide Area Network (SWAN). This integration will form the backbone of our state’s master network, strengthening digital connectivity across departments and administrative units. Have directed the IT Department to prepare a detailed district- and block-wise connectivity plan to ensure convergence and avoid duplication. Stressed on the need for timely implementation and accurate data mapping for seamless digital governance. Also checked on the progress of Phase II of the Shillong IT Park and the Tura Tech Park.

For a kid whose strongest memory about Zubeen was intertwined with Train travels with fellow Assamese out of State hostellers travelling home to Assam for the Annual Winter vacations, and learning how to shout K*** from our seniors, who would command us to hang our heads outside the train windows the moment we entered Assam territory, and shout our Jatiyo emotion 🍌 to any man, bush or animal, this is my humble homage 🙏

@manjitzing My father has always been a die-hard fan of Bhupen Mama. He often criticised Zubeen Garg whenever controversies arose, yet today, after the news of Zubeen’s demise, he is heartbroken. For the first time, I saw how deeply he admired Zubeen, even though he never showed it before.
