I haven’t shared any Soulfinder, Vol. 5 ink in awhile, so here is some sweet @WeldonArt for ya. If you’re looking for deep sea underwater military labs — and secrets locked away from a young Fr. Crane in the 80s during the Cold War, “Silent Service” will be for you. All 80 pages are just about inked and looking great. SFV6’s script is done and on deck. Steady as she goes. If you enjoy Soulfinder, just know that there are plenty of stories to tell in the years ahead. Okay seriously. The folks disappointed with a Firefly revival because it's animated. Do you not realize how incredible a medium animation is for sci-fi? Have you not seen Titan AE? Or Treasure Planet? Americans have such absurd biases against animation when many, MANY properties would be better served being animated. 🙄 (I mean the revival will probably be bad, but animation won't be the reason...)

Serious question. (Read before clicking poll) First draft of next book is complete. Revision has begun. Early betas have access but largely haven't started yet. Second book in same series will likely begin drafting in April. These are shorter books 50-60k words (Or about 1/3 an After Moses novel. A little longer than Fahrenheit 451 or Great Gatsby) The goal is to have internal illustrations. No contract signed yet, so I won't be talking WHO is doing them for awhile, but I'm excited. We are talking to real talent. But Illustrations are expensive. I'll committing to some illustrations no matter what, but I'll be doing a Kickstarter (hopefully this summer) to help fund more. Now there are two possible routes and this is where the question comes in. Route 1: Kickstarter for first book only. This sets a nice easy goal. More money means more illustrations, with a cap set that past a certain number, and further funding is banking for the next books. Book releases easily this year. Books 2 and 3 are completed in the meantime and a second Kickstarter will probably be run to presell them (together) and fund more illustrations for them. Positives: Get a book faster. Simpler campaign, easier to fund. Negatives: Just release the introduction book. Will need a second Kickstarter quicker. Possibility of less illustrations in book 2 and 3 if second generates less interest. Route 2: Kickstarter is for trilogy (series will be longer than 3, but first 3 form a cohesive story arc). Kickstarter soon, but books probably not released until 2027. Positives: First story arc of series completed at once for reading pleasure. Simpler funding, not doing multiple campaigns. Negatives: More complex campaign. Possibility of less illustrations given that in one BIG campaign three times the money would have to be raised to fund the number of illustrations I want. So. You a reader. Which route do YOU like more. Do you want to start with book 1 fast or would you rather wait on 3? Sound off below too. I want to know what this looks like from the other side. Obviously there are other BUSINESS and money considerations that are behind the scenes that I'm taking into account either way, but I want reader input at the moment.
