Today was my first day at @Jagex, as a Level & Quest Designer working on one of the biggest & oldest IPs in games. I feel fortunate and privileged to have this opportunity. I remember being in college 22 years ago & playing Runescape. A surreal day for sure.

We've been absolutely blown away by the first few hours of Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon. I feel like I've jumped in at the right time when the game is at its best. A dark fantasy BGS-inspired game is what I needed to play right now. Bravo to the @TaintedGrail_AR team.

Crimson Desert world is so massive and diverse, it took John Linneman from Digital Foundry roughly 4 hours of traversal and exploration to go from the opening village to the desert. He also noted that he hasn't felt this need to explore since RDR2 and Breath of the Wild.

Messing about with marketplace assets and Horror Engine inside UE5. Amazing how quickly you can throw scenes together and get something functional in a few hours with gameplay. Always good practice to keep the tools sharp.

By the math, 100k is achievable by many developers, especially solo devs. $15 game and about 300-400 reviews. (10k sales) That's your target. You just can't spend 3 years on a game and hopefully you can repeat and roll one success into another and back catalog sales kick in.

@MauroNL3 Production values are through the roof but the moment to moment gameplay is lacking and the sign posting for interaction points needed more work. It's premise & setup were very intriguing & pulled me in but the gameplay let me down.

Nobody Wants to Die is a very impressive indie game. Production values are kinda insane and it runs very smoothly on consoles at 60fps too. Yes, its a walking sim, but its an interesting mix of Blade Runner, LA Noire and Altered Carbon.

Watching Ripley go full force in Aliens (1986) hits even harder knowing Sigourney Weaver scored an Oscar nomination for it. A sci fi action performance getting Academy recognition was unheard of. All time cool.

That mall hallway reveal in Terminator 2 is an all timer. Arnold walking in slow motion with the shotgun hidden in a flower box then the turn. First time watching, you still think he’s the villain. Then the reveal hits & the entire film flips on its head.
