I was reading Jean Guitton’s book on Paul VI in which he recorded their conversations. They were close friends. I found this interesting part about Lefebvre. It shows Paul VI’s intention to banish the Latin Mass permanently and how he viewed Lefebvre as a danger to his agenda!

Are you sure you didn't meet my twin? 😂😂 My kids were lucky if they had bagged cereal in the car on the way to school. Most mornings we were running too late to bother with breakfast. Their socks were mismatched; the days they had 2 socks similar sizes were always good days. After school, my kids had meltdowns religiously. On the best days they would take turns so I only had one to deal with at a time. The autism groups said they were "decompressing from the stress of school." The county said they were too high functioning for me to get help. "What is normal life anyways?" For us, it was mismatched socks, screaming fits, and learning to live in a sensory friendly environment. We carried sensory friendly calming toys and activities in the car. We didn't have a Pinterest house or Pinterest outfits. We homeschooled some years, homeschooled part time some years, and for years I drove hundreds of miles to smaller charter schools that were less intimidating for them than large public schools. Now that they are older, I miss the chaotic routines. I miss the noise. Now they are just as likely to spend the day in their room or be at work all day and not say a word to me until they trudge downstairs into the kitchen for dinner. The socks are still mismatched and the house still isn't Pinterest level. But at the end of the day, none of that matters anyways.

There’s a mom at our school drop-off. Messy bun, always three minutes late, kids usually eating dry cereal out of a Ziploc. The "Pinterest moms" always whispered about her. I honestly felt a little bad for her. Then one day at the playground, my neurodivergent son had a massive, violent sensory meltdown. I’m sitting in the dirt, crying, totally paralyzed. The "perfect" moms just stared and pulled their kids away. Suddenly, she’s there. The messy mom. She drops her giant bag, sits right in the dirt next to us, pulls a heavy sensory toy out of her purse, and calmly shields my son from the crowd. No panic. No judgment. He regulated in three minutes. I was speechless. We had coffee after. She told me her house is a disaster and she has severe ADHD, but she knows exactly what a nervous system collapse looks like. I asked her how she deals with the judgmental stares from the other moms. She took a sip of her cold coffee and said: "Perfect moms know how to bake organic muffins. Chaotic moms know how to survive the trenches." Every time I see her running late now, I just smile. Girls, be like the messy mom. Stop apologizing for your chaos.

This was not written by me, but it touched me deeply… Sunday is coming. “He received 39 stripes because 40 was known to kill a man. They wanted him alive. They held handfuls of his beard, and hair and pulled it out by the roots. They wanted him alive. They kicked, punched, and spit on him for hours. Until there wasn't a single spot on his body not covered in blood. They wanted him alive. They shoved a crown of thorns down on his head so harshly it stuck in his skin. They wanted him alive. After hours of being beaten, mocked, whipped, flogged, and tortured they made him walk with a cross. They made him carry it. A rough piece of wood with splinters digging into fresh wounds. They wanted him alive. They wanted him to feel every ounce of pain they could bring. He had to feel it in order to heal us. Crucifixion was historically one of the cruelest most tortured deaths a human could face. Hours upon hours of torture. Torture most of us can not mentally think of because the cruelty isn't normal. It isn't something our minds can comprehend. We celebrate Easter with pastel colors, happy children hunting eggs, and chocolate. Truth is there was absolutely nothing happy about the day Jesus died. It was cruel, bloody, and nasty. He could have stopped all of it. He could have called every angel in heaven to demolish every person standing and shouting "Crucify Him!" He didn't. He knew in order to have a Sunday you have to have a Friday. He knew in order to have joy you have to carry your cross. He felt everything that day. He felt how your heart broke wide open when you had to watch your baby die. He felt how heavy your life was when you were staring down the barrel of a gun wondering if the man you called husband was going to shoot you. He carried the weight of the burden you have felt since your spouse died, and life just doesn't seem right since. On that cross he held the rapist and murderers, the sinner and the saint. He leveled every playing field and said ALL of you are worth it. He knew he had to carry the cross. He never promised the cross you carry in this life would not be heavy. His wasn't. His promise is that Sunday is coming. No matter how heavy Friday is. Financially, emotionally, mentally, or physically. Friday is heavy. That cross is weighing you down and you are about to crumble under its weight. His promise was simply this. He won't make you carry it alone. What kind of king would step down from his throne for this? Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God did. For you. He did every bit of it for you and me. Oh yes, it is heavy. So heavy sometimes you do not think you can take one more step. But look up, because Sunday is coming.”

It's not surprising if you've been paying attention. People are lazy and deserve their plight for having minimal fortitude.
