@Ljiljana1972 This has been the case in the IT industry for some time. Maybe just good rather than fantastic salaries.
English

@DaleJohnsonBBC The difference is the City’s lawyers and the instructions they’ve likely received.
English

Difference here is the EFL has a set table for punishments based on the overspend and financial progress.
If found guilty, the penalty is set in writing.
It is why we knew West Brom would be docked 2 or 3 points, depending on precisely how far over the limit they were.
Sam Cunningham@samcunningham
The independent panel considering the Premier League’s 115-plus charges against Man City – which the club strongly deny – is yet to reach a verdict, almost 18 months after the hearing. West Brom were issued a two-point deduction less than 24 hours after their hearing.

@RedDave14 Fascinating. Ireland has a nuanced view of its place in Europe and isn’t defined by its history with Britain! Who knew?

@flat6fanatic @alphacanid @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 There’s no question that Europe spent the last 30 years letting its armed forces wither. That started to change after the invasion of Ukraine but will take time. But, Europe isn’t involved in Iran for different reasons; we don’t trust the US anymore.
English

@martinsmac @alphacanid @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 Europe refuses to arm Ukraine with the Taurus cruise missile and isn't producing hardly any SCALPs. Europe has no ballistic missile defense. They have nothing that compares to the F 35. They literally can't field a blue water navy. The entire continent is impotent.
English

@flat6fanatic @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 The US doesn’t pay Europe for its bases. It pays its own operational cost in using them. In the UK, bases are rent-free. The terms of use mean you do need to justify the legality of your operations. What has the US protected Europe from since the Cold War, seriously?
English

@martinsmac @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 We did consult you when we signed the lease agreements for the bases that we pay you for. It is absolutely outrageous that European countries are impeding our operations from bases that we pay for to protect the very values and oil that Europe relies on.
English

@flat6fanatic @alphacanid @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 Europe is buying plenty of munitions to supply Ukraine. Your stuff does work (but in most cases isn’t unique). Most European buyers of F35 have been clear that they’re reviewing their orders to avoid strategic dependence on an untrustworthy ally.
English

@martinsmac @alphacanid @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 You are mistaken. We have so many orders for weapons that we cannot keep up. PAC-3s, F-35s, THAAD, JASSMs etc. We need to increase our production lines 10 fold not 4 fold. Our shit works and countries want our weapons because of that.
English

@flat6fanatic @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 Except you do need our permission to use our bases. It makes sense to consult.
English

@martinsmac @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 We don't need your permission to defend the United States. Hence, we didn't need to consult you. You get your oil from there, we are energy independent. Yes, I know a lot of people in the ME. I lived there for years. The GCC is now our best friends and they are ordering.
English

@alphacanid @flat6fanatic @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 The US is certainly not selling ideas 🤣. And it’s selling fewer weapons than 4 years ago. A trend that will increase.
English

@martinsmac @flat6fanatic @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 US is selling weapons, not ideas :)
English

@flat6fanatic @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 You haven’t exposed anything about Europe. This war started without consultation with Europe. We’re simply not involved. Do you know anyone in the Gulf States? They’re furious that the US has brought them under Iranian attack with no plan to defeat Iran.
English

@martinsmac @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 For one, we exposed that Asia and Europe have no military to do anything of consequence without the US. Second, we put back Iran's nuclear capability at least another 5 years. We will have to be back if we don't finish the job. Third, we created 5 hyper allies in the ME.
English

@flat6fanatic @VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 What have you achieved in Iran? Same regime. Plenty of missiles and drones left. The Strait closed. Like Vietnam, Korea, Iraq and Afghan, the US has firepower but no idea how to defeat an enemy.
English

@VioletDante @ukraine_map @WarMonitor3 An amazing way to sell US Hardware is to have the entire world watch as we handled Venezuela and Iran. Our weapons orders are through the roof. We are doubling our production lines and still won't be able to keep up with demand. Years behind in production. Our shit works.

@DavidGrebstad @SeaSpitfires The Canadian contribution is routinely neglected, even in the UK where we *should* be aware. Obviously, though, the US did it all.
English

I believe some of these claims, even if they stretch the truth a bit, are the result of, and a reaction to, decades of marginalization of the Canadian effort. While committed historians, be they academic or armchair, may have a good grasp of the Canadian role on the beaches, the frequency with which Canada gets sidelined or ignored in film and print likely motivated some to beat their/our drum a little louder than would normally be associated with polite Canadians.
English

Did you all get the memo that Canada achieved its D-day objectives?

@DaleJohnsonBBC Typical exemplary punishment given to United. This rule will never applied again.

The FA's disciplinary commission unanimously rejected Manchester United's appeal against Lisandro Martinez's red card for hair pulling.
The KMI Panel supported the on-field decision and VAR intervention 4:1.

This is such a beautiful moment. The brilliance of Twin Peaks.

My vision ended and I awoke with a tremendous feeling of optimism & confidence in you & your future. I'm so glad to have had this opportunity to share it with you.

@RedDave14 @emilyhewertson I don’t think there was a concept of either England or Wales then. There were just ‘Celtic Britons.’ Wales became distinctive as a consequence of the Anglo Saxons migration into what’s now England, which drove Celts west. Lots of places claim to be where St Patrick was taken.
English

@emilyhewertson No one said he was Irish; also he was most likely Welsh rather than British, there not being a concept of that at the time. There wasn’t even an England until ~400-500 years later…
English

@DaleJohnsonBBC @TheNathaneal If it can't be explained by a person it might as well be arbitrary.
English

@TheNathaneal To be fair here, the technology will be making this decision.
English

if this path continues, we might return to the dark age of physical assault on refs. what I hate the most is how FAs are more interested in protecting refs than justice. the idiot who oversaw this will likely not be punished or get a laughable soft reprisal. it's just horrible
Dale Johnson@DaleJohnsonBBC
Difficult to see what's actually offside for this Barcelona goal last night. Obviously there's been some similar ones in the Premier League. Barcelona boss Hansi Flick a bit miffed.
English

@DaleJohnsonBBC If this was offside then the diagram doesn't show it.
