The reality is cycling lobby groups believe this is OK as nobody is getting hurt and if they did it would not be serious. This is a day to day event unfortunately… I see it first hand while cycling . … often being shouted at if I ask others to stop. We need to do so much better …..🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴

@juankar_hh @Alexintosh Nobody really gives a shit about this inelegant workaround. 1. I have active subscriptions and an iCloud family that I manage 2. Even when using a second account instead, Apple Music and other things won’t work if you’re subscribed to it on the main account. The EU sucks.

iPhone Mirroring is banned from the EU because of the monstrosity of the Digital Markets Act. So I built my own. Works on WiFi at 60fps over AirPlay, mouse and keyboard support.

@democrats_eu Stop lying, it is your fault. WE don’t have a single innovative company within the EU, so you try to destroy others by governing the hell out of them. And we both know this. Other member states attacking German companies through lobbying is okay I suppose. Get a grip.

Apple has decided not to bring its new Siri AI to iPhones and iPads in the EU, blaming the Digital Markets Act. The Commission’s reply was blunt: this is Apple’s choice, not Europe’s fault. No American multinational can blackmail 450 million consumers by saying: change your rules, or we keep innovation away. A carmaker would not refuse to export cars because Europe requires a speedometer. The same principle applies here. The DMA defends fair competition, consumer choice and digital sovereignty. In Europe, Big Tech does not write the law.

@j_bg The difference is though, that China is still innovative itself, while none of the EU companies are.

@ariange1o Brussels is a joke and I’d never believe what they say. You are 100% correct, we don’t have any innovative companies so the EU tries to destroy other companies too.

Actually, quite simple. If we Europeans hadn’t killed all our best companies and prevented innovation with the dumbest regulations ever thought by a human being, we wouldn’t be crying about competition with American companies. Say what you want, but this entire situation just shows how much of a failure the EU is actually is. If you need regulations on this level to keep the market competitive you already lost.

EXCLUSIVE: Apple and the EU are telling very different stories on Siri AI, and right now, it's a standoff. Apple's press release and comments to @LelloucheNico say the DMA would force it to give rival assistants deep access to messages, files, photos, app actions, and personal context, creating privacy/security risks. I reached out to the EU Commission for comment, and they discussed it today (video below). They said nothing in the DMA blocks Siri AI. Apple can launch it if it complies, but it must give rivals "equivalent access" and can’t use iOS to favour its own AI. Apple proposed a “Trusted System Agent” and an 18-month rollout to ensure only approved third-party agents could run. The Commission says they weren't "DMA-compliant interoperability proposals." Whatever that means. This is a standoff over who controls the AI layer on iPhone. The EU isn’t protecting user choice here. It’s trying to regulate the iPhone’s AI layer, and EU users are the ones losing out. iPhone users can already download ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity. Apps like @poppysimplified can use your Mac to get system-level access for AI assistant apps. The EU is demanding default, system-level access for any third-party app that claims to be an AI assistant. Which is dangerous, especially given Apple's privacy-focused AI stance. Apple, respectably, is not bowing down.

"The decision not to roll out Siri AI in the EU is Apple's and Apple's only," spokesperson Thomas Regnier told reporters in Brussels, saying there was nothing in the Digital Markets Act to stop the company from introducing new products in the EU.

The EU doesn’t understand that I buy Apple products for the experience Apple has created: their stance on privacy, the way iOS is built and sandboxed, and how all Apple products are integrated with each other Watering it down and ruining my Apple experience makes me hate the EU
European Commission Audiovisual Service@EC_AVService

Apple decided not to roll out SIRI AI in the EU. The non-interoperability of their design made the update not suitable for the EU market. Why? Because big tech companies cannot decide which EU tool should be used by EU citizens. Learn more👇 📺youtube.com/shorts/ATg_W0N…

Hey @Apple and @EU_Commission, enough is enough! it doesn’t matter who’s right or wrong. We will look you up till you find a mutually agreed solution, the least bad one for both of you. Give us a white smoke when you’re done. Signed: EU users 🇪🇺 bisou 😘

@Gizmo_x @jeromekeinborg @Apple @EU_Commission I do not trust the people in Brussels. If they specifically target the power house of Germany that funds way to many of the other countries. How trustworthy is that?

So basically, we will never have Siri AI in Europe. I have been waiting for the iPhone mirroring feature for over two years now, and we still don't have it. So why would the new Siri be introduced? #wwdc
