@TJPofTexas 3/3 Re: lack of info on fitness etc., question has been raised by others whether THC makes people more sedentary or munch more and these lead to impaired FMD. Complex answer, so I already prepared two documents that explain it that are attached.

@TJPofTexas 2/3 Curious about your comment on the edible group having significantly higher BP. It had larger SBP&DBP values but overall p is .23 and .17. I don't have pairwise comparisons handy. Re: 8:1, we already know that sex is not correlated with FMD or NO measurements in our cohort...

Dr. Matt Springer, Thank you so much for sharing your study. Were study participants evaluated against other diet / exercise related factors (e.g. acute hyperglycemia, overall fitness, exercise frequency, etc) which could affect FMD performance? The edibles group was predominantly male (8:1) and had a significant increase in blood pressure vs. the other groups. Additionally, were blood sugar and caffeine levels measured at the time of FMD testing?

@TJPofTexas @LeilaMohMDPhD @JAMACardio @UCSFCardiology Open access (OA) options for this journal are prohibitively expensive ($6k) especially during current funding uncertainties. It becomes open access on their site after a year, but in the meantime, a pre-formatted version is legally AO on UC repository escholarship.org/uc/item/80d2m1…

If this study was funded by Federal and CA state tax dollars, why aren't the results public and without a paywall? "Dr Springer reported receiving grants from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products, the California Tobacco-Related Disease Research Program," @CAgovernor @US_FDA

@Terr83503821245 @LeilaMohMDPhD @JAMACardio @UCSFCardiology A correction is being incorporated into the Aug print version of the article and a correction notice is being prepared for the online versions (in July I believe) to remove both mentions of "sex-matched." Thanks for pointing that out. Doesn't impact the conclusions as mentioned.
