@cleantechinv Ah, those halcyon days when engineers were engineers, but UX designers didn't exist yet.

They called it “secrecy mode” instead of Mute, and then “secrecy was too long, so they dropped the y... but added a period to show it was an abbreviation. 🤨

On a borrowed landline phone for a morning conference call, and was completely stymied trying to find a mute button. Eventually discovered that the “Secrec.” button was short for “secrecy”.

Asoleyo is re-imagining solar cells' metallic contacts, transforming a utilitarian rectangular grid into something beautiful. Our cells can be combined and rotated to make larger patterns, like ceramic tile, and are compatible with existing manufacturing processes and materials.

@bwohlgemuth @CowboyDanPaasch No need to be perfectly aerodynamic for hop testing... The test vehicle will ascend to no more than 500 meters on flights lasting about 100 seconds. High-altitude tests will see the vehicle ascend as high as 5,000 meters. All in a vertical configuration. spacenews.com/fcc-license-ap…
