Everyone followed him in. They all died in seconds. “Leeroy, you are just stupid as hell.” “At least I have chicken.” The clip spread across the internet before “going viral” was even a phrase. It was referenced in South Park, How I Met Your Mother, and an article in a military journal. The game’s developer added the character as an official figure inside the game. His name became shorthand for anyone who ruins a plan by doing something reckless. The whole thing was staged. The group admitted years later it was a scripted re-enactment of something that had actually happened. The cameraman said: “We didn’t think anyone would believe it was real. We thought it was so obviously satire.” The player behind Leeroy Jenkins is a guy named Ben Schulz. He repairs industrial lighting for a living.

Band of Brothers: I know I lot of you have served. How accurate is this? I mean this single clip covers so many aspects of military service. Valor, cowardice, frustration at being in command and enlistment. And the legends that spring from them. But that's the point, does this sort of thing actually happen or is this just one of those things that still gets talked about decades later because of how rare it all really is? @theduke171009 @BizballMaury Yessir, In Pittsburgh, the cancelled all of the ancillary programming (talk-shows, etc) because the advertising could not support them. So they just replayed games and random free content like high school games. Ratings of 6 meant 94% of your paying audience did not watch.

@mjguff @BizballMaury They didn’t see people abandoning cable. My mom who doesn’t know what channel Yes Network, was and his still giving them 8 dollars of month regardless of she watches. The Braves started their own RSN and will lose 40 percent of that revenue of its a success after contract expires

@BizballMaury The average fan doesn't know this but wait till you hear how bad local media revenue is on baseball. Half the teams might need mlb to produce games this season. They'll still have the contract honored but it won't be renewed. There's a reason mlb sold mlb.tv
