@Uzonna7 Fargo is so far above No Country. It is criminally underrated. I loved the TV show first season which tied back to the movie.

Sandlot it ain't.
Youth sports now $40 B industry:
"Teenagers on travel teams are rolling into weekend tournaments wearing a few thousand dollars of apparel, equipment & swag. Avg family spending on baseball increased nearly 70% between 2019 and 2024."

Over 400,000 in queue for @twentyonepilots in Columbus.
Guess all the discords that didn’t call the first presale all called it now.

I believe @Spotify pays roughly 70% of streaming $ to artists, it's simply a large pool they need to pay. If the industry did not fight streaming 25 years ago to save their $30 per CD as the only option scam, we would not be in this spot. Movies have a similar issue with no DVDs. Times changed.

I hear that @Spotify payments are fairly paltry. I believe just paying musicians properly would “open up additional revenue streams.”

@RickRickg6801 @MLFootball He was so bad, he was brutal to watch, his stats were bad, and he was even more awful in the playoffs. But here is a post of his one TD run in a playoff game where we barely won, and he completed 35% of his passes with "he was ahead of his time". LOL.
English

@mjguff @MLFootball They all continently forget bad Kordell. You know crying and screaming at his coach because he was benched Kordell. Benched and relegated to WR and not allowed in QB meetings in 99 Kordell.

NEWS: Ex-#Steelers quarterback/WR/punter Kordell Stewart says he was ahead of his time
“You know the stubborn side of me says they weren't ready for me, but I was ready for the game. I was a little ahead of my time”
Kordell was truly ahead of his time:

Confirmed to speak at TicketCon 2026 this July in New Orleans.
After 16 years fighting @LiveNation in federal court for being a monopoly and wiping out my career, I’m happy to have the conversation publicly.
@DanWall55 said there’s “no credible voice” criticizing Live Nation.
Fine. Let’s debate it live in front of the industry and the fans, and put my trial evidence on the table for the world to see.
Fans, artists, venues, and independent promoters deserve transparency.
Hey @ScottFriedman3, are you okay with this? It’s your conference.
You up for it, @DanWall55?

It great and all, but its 1,200 televised games vs 40 games, plus extensive playoffs, plus some level or streaming, RSN dollars, and much higher sponsorship based on consumer volume. 800,000 tickets sold vs maybe 25,000 per team. = piles more revenue and sponsors. The UFL also ranks terrible in coveted advertiser demos. You need NFL type numbers if you are going to remotely compete financially with such small volume.
English

The @TheUFL is averaging 631,000 viewers per game this season.
The NHL averaged 546,000 on national TV and the MLS averaged 120,000.
Spring football has failed in America for 40 years - this feels like the first version that actually has a chance to last.
The biggest reason why:
The UFL became developmental football with real stakes, recognizable coaches, players people actually know and legitimate TV distribution.
And in a football obsessed country, there’s real value in that.

@jwawk @kzen49 @EasyStevie817 @TheCinesthetic And nobody figured out that the cop on an entry level salary with a million-dollar condo who grew up on the bad guy's street was the crooked cop. Even the real estate agent was like "WTF, know way man, I know how much you make"
English

Billy Costigan in The Departed spends the entire movie looking seconds away from completely falling apart. The tragedy is that right when it finally seems like he might survive the nightmare and get his life back, Scorsese just cuts him down instantly.
