I worry that senior doctors- GPs and Consultants- are disincentivised to continue contributing to excellent patient care but even more importantly to mentoring junior colleagues and to being the 'corporate memory'/repository of knowledge to prevent the wheel from being reinvented

Compare that to £90 for a 15 min consult on Choose and Book or £120 -£220 for a PP. Cons would make tha same amount in an hour. This will encourage younger consultants to not do extra work in NHS - will take income away from NHS Trusts ...
