It is important that the economy of Puducherry grows. In that light, the recently inaugurated Karasur-Sedarapet Industrial Estate is an important project. It will be home to modern Pharma, Textile and IT Parks. This will ensure that talent and investments come to Puducherry in large numbers. In the coming days, we will open R&D centres that will nurture a culture of innovation in Puducherry.

We want to strengthen the health and education infrastructure in Puducherry. In this regard, the inauguration of the Composite Engineering Block, known as the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Block and Ganga Hostel of NIT, Karaikal as well as the modernisation of the Regional Cancer Centre at JIPMER, the new annexe buildings, lecture halls and hostels of Pondicherry University will go a long way. It will also cater to local needs and draw people from all over the nation.

While the NDA is working towards BEST Puducherry, the Opposition has no vision for Puducherry’s progress. They want to use Puducherry as an ATM and ensure it is ruled by the High Command in Delhi instead of listening to the will of the people. A few days ago, I was interacting with BJP booth workers of Puducherry. One of our Karyakartas put it very well when he said that the Opposition’s agenda is to create a WEAK Puducherry. Today’s roadshow in Puducherry was phenomenal. The people of Puducherry have clearly decided to re-elect the NDA Government so that we can keep working towards our vision of creating BEST Puducherry. What was noteworthy was the presence of our Nari Shakti and Yuva Shakti in large numbers during the roadshow.

The passage of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026 #JanVishwasBill2026 is a landmark reform in India’s journey toward Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living. Our sincere thanks to Hon Minister of Commerce & Industry Thiru @PiyushGoyal avl for steering this transformative reform with clarity and conviction. The Select Committee, chaired by my brother Thiru @Tejasvi_Surya avl, BJP MP, Bengaluru South, also played a vital role by holding several rounds of sittings and undertaking extensive consultations, strengthening the depth and reach of this reform. By decriminalising over 1,000 provisions across 79 Acts, including several old colonial-era laws, the central govt has sent a strong message: minor procedural lapses should not be treated like serious crimes. For MSMEs, startups, women entrepreneurs, small traders, and common citizens, this means less compliance burden, faster resolution, and greater confidence to grow. For Tamil Nadu, this reform has real, ground-level significance for MSMEs & small business owners & workers who will benefit directly, as minor offences can now be resolved on the spot through a warning or a small penalty, rather than forcing them into lengthy court processes. Our Hon PM avl’s reform-oriented governance has consistently removed outdated rules, simplified compliance, and strengthened direct benefit delivery to citizens. This Bill strengthens a trust-based framework that empowers our citizens. It marks the end of rules and regulations that are outdated. At the same time, it ensures speedy disposal of cases, reduces litigation burden with decriminalisation. What is also noteworthy is the consultative approach with which this Bill was drafted. My compliments to all those who have given their insights towards the drafting of the Bill and supported it in Parliament.
