Attended the Urban Conclave organised by @Janaagraha1 today, where I participated in a panel on City Systems' Approach to growth and livability. Spoke on decentralisation, participatory governance and the role of cities as engines of growth. Our cities contribute 60% of the country's GDP despite making up just 3% of the land. It's estimated that by 2050, more than half of our country's population would live in cities, emphasising the need to plan our cities on Liveability. Highlighted the importance of urban mobility particularly Mass Rapid Transit Systems and robust public transport in shaping our cities. Sharing few glimpses.

Participated in a meeting of Karnataka MPs chaired by Union Minister Shri @JoshiPralhad Ji in New Delhi yesterday. Discussed issues concerning the development and interests of the State of Karnataka, along with key priorities relating to growth, infrastructure and welfare.

A constructive and timely appeal by former PM Shri HD Deve Gowda Ji. Unfortunately, the Congress Party under LoP Rahul Gandhi has made disruption its default strategy in Parliament. Institutions, debate and legislative functioning have repeatedly been sacrificed for political theatre. One hopes that Smt. Sonia Gandhi heeds this appeal and prevails upon the Congress leadership to restore a sense of responsibility in the Opposition. India deserves debate, not disruption.

The hallmark of Congress rule anywhere is stalled development. In Karnataka today, the Congress Government’s reckless “Guarantee” schemes have drained the state’s finances so badly that even the Deputy CM admits there are no funds left for development in constituencies. Contrast this with Assam under the BJP’s Double Engine Government, where development is moving at full speed to make the state the growth engine of the Northeast. Bengaluru voters can't verify their votes in the revised electoral roll by name or EPIC number on the GBA portal. They're expected to scroll ward-by-ward, without even knowing which new ward they fall under after delimitation. This isn't an oversight. It's a deliberate disenfranchisement by design.
