@path2kill @zu2jin okay my bad, english is not my first language. i mean maybe something more similar to “as is”, “if we look at it plainly”, basically just looking at the word and analyzing it. and regarding your other comment, i pose the question of why did the change in spelling have to be made?
English

@path2kill @zu2jin i didnt say its “inherently” male centered it’s just that the modern word has been changed FOR men so, the word female in its modern form, is different from its ancestors in the sense that its been changed to involve men. its from a linguistic perspective that i make this comment
English

@path2kill @zu2jin i didnt use the word inherently i believe?
and yes i know biology, i was talking about its use in every day life as a way to address women. i had not realized we were having a scientific discussion because there was no such context provided!!
English

@mofuwas @zu2jin okay, then you dont know what inherently or male centered means, the spelling being historically influenced by the word male doesnt mean what u think it does
and yes its centered on reproductive ability, bc male & female are biological categories defined by reproductive roles
English

@path2kill @zu2jin + female as a noun, which i believe is unnecessary and would opt for a different word. obviously, as an adjective, it’s biologically correct. there is currently discourse about men calling women females so that’s what i responded about.
English

@path2kill @zu2jin i dont mean the essence of the word is male centered, though it is centered on the ability of the ‘female’ to reproduce and breastfeed (?) its young. i mean the modern word structure has been purposefully changed to match with “male”. im responding to op concerning the use of +

@keonranghae @lelelingua they were even kind enough to link it in the replies

English

@glitterspo @zu2jin im talking about its use as a noun not an adjective obvi!!
English
