It’s a bit surreal to say, I finally submitted my PhD thesis today. 80,000 words 4 Chapters 5 years It’s been a massive undertaking that’s been as hard as it’s been rewarding. There is no growth without grief. No sweet without sweat. This goal is one I set for myself when I was 17, in my first year of my undergraduate fine art degree. It’s been a journey. But I’m finally done and it feels incredible! Thank you to this motley crew of web3 and to my wonderful patrons here who have kept me company at my computer and held space for my creative work as I’ve progressed to this milestone. It is true that my scholarly research and creative practice are inextricably linked but for these many years my art has had to come second to the theoretical study that has informed it so immensely. I am unbelievably excited to now devote my daily life to the practice-led expression of my art and philosophy. It’s going to be at least 3 months before my thesis is fully reviewed and my qualifications formally come through, but for me, there is no waiting. I have some very exciting projects on the horizon!
