Been thinking about Simpsons phrases that have entered the popular lexicon. Things like "land of contrasts" and "saying the quiet part loud," what else is there (not thinking of neologisms/solecisms like "cromulent" or "embiggen")

@isabelunraveled Don’t stop doing things that scare you. It’s the only way you’ll continue to grow professionally. Make and keep close friends, this is a challenge in the busiest part of life (30s and 40s) but will be a great source of joy and comfort in your 50s.

question for women in their 30s, 40s, 50s, etc: what are women in their twenties not considering that they should be considering?

Can someone explain to me what specifically happened in this video to trigger so many people? Is it waking up early? Boba? Homeschooling? Hockey?Someone explain the “I’d rather kms” comment section.

@KelseyMLoo I just asked my husband and he lit up and said often but only because watching USA on the decline seems like the dying days of Roman Empire.

I saw an IG Reel that said something along the lines of “women have no idea how often the men in their lives think about the Roman Empire.” So I asked my husband: “How often do you think about the Roman Empire?” And without missing a beat he said “Every day.” YALL! Why!?

@Stopworkplacebu Catering manager stick my hand in a pot of scalding hot coffee because a patron said their coffee wasn’t hot enough. I got second degree burns that blistered and disallowed any shifts off over Xmas.

What’s the word for when a corporation brings in a woman after every man has failed and it’s virtually impossible for her to succeed because so much structural and fundamental failure has happened before she even walked in the door?

@notcapnamerica At 15, my manager at McDonald’s wouldn’t let me leave the staff changing area until I gave him a kiss. “Just a quick kiss and I’ll let you go back to work”. He was 21.

@perfectrose2011 @1goodtern I grew up in Prince Edward Island (east coast of Canada) and when I was very young, I heard fortnight a lot but it seems to have disappeared.

@1goodtern No one has added the term: 'Fortnight' - meaning in two weeks time. My dad (mum, dad & I all British but came to Vancouver when I was 6 yr. old) used this phrase often and I grew up knowing what it meant. No one uses it in Canada and doubt anyone would know what it means.

My book was on Obama’s favourite list but what is really electrifying the room here at mom and dad’s is that King Cole tea is on sale $5.99 a box, and everyone is flying through the store with shopping carts full of them
