8 years ago, I was introduced to FabLabs when Tony Donen hired me and gave me an article by Sherry Lassiter (on the 4th digital revolution) and Invent To Learn by Sylvia Libow Martinez and Gary Stager, Ph.D. I had no idea how much that day would change my life Today, we concluded our second visit with “Lass” where she coordinated time for 65 teachers and principals from HCS to engage with her and some of the incredible MIT Media grad students to learn how they continue to push the boundaries of possible at the birthplace of FabLabs. She also helped us coordinate with Desault Systemes where I got to collaborate with Tony Donen, Jim David, and Emily Hurst to lead 4 days of leadership development for our incredible educators who are at the helm of the 36 VW eLabs in our schools. As HCS LC Superintendent, Dr Shane Harwood, observed today, “It’s incredible that we are on MIT’s campus and Dr Lassiter is standing at a podium recognizing our community as a leader in this space!” Thank you, Lass, MIT, Desault Systemes, and of course, Volkswagen!
