When you’re told a member of your immediate family has cancer it’s just horrendous. The waiting for the prognosis, the panic that the unthinkable may happen, the helplessness. My world was turned upside down at 5pm today. Hug your loved ones tight tonight. I feel lost!

@adamboxer1 I check and respond through the holidays. For me that’s significantly less stressful than arriving back to a list of unread emails.

My holiday email rules - I keep them on - when an email comes in (and this is rare) I check it when I get a min - I'll almost never do anything if it's from a colleague, unless it's something I don't mind doing now and will save me time later - I'll almost always respond if it's from a student. I set them work, then imo if they have a Q it's only right to reply

Played in this festive medieval tithe barn with my mandolin orchestra today. A lovely start to the holiday.

@hecharden @hertschorus I’ve spent today playing music for 5 hours in two different groups. Best way to spend the first day of the holidays. I probably wouldn’t have encountered these people any other way but as you said the sense of community and shared enjoyment is uplifting.

Preparing for Journal Club 😻

@MrARobbins I thought it was a One Note sync issue but it happens when I have auto sync off. It’s worse when the students are working on one note at the same time e.g. 6th form. Lower years have laptops closed when I’m explaining and it happens less

We have TVs that staff wireless connect too and we find that one note will freeze even if the laptop has 16gig of RAM Trying to figure out if it's a display or OS issue
