Wow man.
Having this happen in our city just plain sucks. We had the easiest path to the Final Four.
Even with elite defense, it couldn’t make up for the nonexistent offense.
You need to be able to get dirt cheap buckets in tough stretches if you want to win a natty.
Dallas lands in the 5-8 range
They draft one of Kingston/Acuff/Mikel/Wagler
Warriors land in the 11-14 range
Warriors are in win-now mode with Steph & Jimmy
Call them up
Offer Gaff or PJ, #30 & #48
Draft Philon/Stirtz/Burries
Two swings at cleaning up the guard rotation
Yep… great year to have a top-10 pick. For PG, I’d still take Flemings over Acuff if both are on the board when Mavs pick, but no matter what they’re getting a really good player to pair with Coop.
Asked #illini coach Brad Underwood what it means to make Sweet Sixteens a more regular occurence with #illini.
"It's why I came here. It's why I'm still doing it. ...That's what drives me. That's everything that drives me. The first day I feel like we can't win a national championship, they need to hire somebody else or I need to retire or go do that. But we're in that mix."
Vanderbilt-Nebraska has EVERYTHING
1. Crowd is 11/10
2. Berke Buyuktuncel is ready for a fist-fight with Devin McGlockton
3. Also a matchup of the best two athletes you can find at 6-0 or shorter in Tyler Tanner and Sam Hoiberg
The record books will state this NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament game between Nebraska and Vanderbilt occurred at a “neutral site.”
Tell that to the Commodores.
OKC: Enjoy this video of something you’ll rarely see… A full house in downtown OKC loudly united behind one team… that is not from Oklahoma.
Nebraska fans: Safe travels home Sunday. We are grateful to have been the home of your newest core memories.
And thanks to the NCAA, all eight teams and their fans, and everyone who made this weekend possible!
Thought this was interesting in the postgame presser...
Matas Vokietaitis was asked about facing Graham Ike and his answer was straight forward
"First of all, I don't really care who I'm playing against...In my eyes I'm the best big man in the country"
Watch how Dailyn Swain nods in approval, almost like he's been waiting for Matas to talk his stuff
Then coach Miller doubles down and makes sure the reporter heard his answer
Confidence is at an all-time high for UT's star big man

Isaiah Jackson shoved Naji Marshall, and a brief scuffle followed.
Both players were given technical fouls.
Looks like Jackson was telling Marshall to meet him in the back by this clip.
With a 15-0 edge in free throw attempts vs. VCU tonight, Illinois is still far from even with NCAA tournament officials:
2001: Arizona 56, Illinois 25
2005: North Carolina 19, Illinois 6
2006: Washington 39, Illinois 11
Hot take: I think Brad Underwood is a pretty damn good basketball coach.
Two times in three years among the final 16 programs alive nationally for the first time since 2004-05. Don’t take it for granted.
Honestly, Tomislav Ivisic was more deserving of a technical for that hang-on-the-rim dunk than RJ Melendez.
(Glad they didn't call it)
#illini up 71-51 with 3:28 left.
@CollegeHoopsTIk Despite the FT disparity, there were several calls against Illinois that were terrible; looked like an effort to try even out the number of calls made against each team.
To the VCU fans that are inevitably going to complain about free throw disparity, I say this respectfully as a Big Ten account.
Illinois is known for not fouling. They’re one of the best teams I’ve ever seen at going straight up.
Ben Humrichous has really evolved into an elite glue player.
For a guy that took a lot of criticism for not living up to the shooter/ scorer he was recruited to be, his defensive leap has impressed me a lot.
He does all the small things so, so well.
@jrichardgoodman I know this is probably wrong, but I'm actually more comfortable with the guys from about 4-10 than 1-3. The ceilings for 1-3 seem higher, but I feel like there's some bust potential for all of them, too.
Tom Izzo on the state of coaching in CBB:
"I respect the guys that have left. I understand why some of them did. But my boss told me a long time ago, your job is to be a steward of the game. I don't think right now enough coaches are standing up to be stewards of the game"
