Today I had the real honor to represent the whole #DEFENDERtrial team and present our results together with @f_g_zampieri in the incredible #CCR24 meeting with an amazing team of panellists. Best part came afterwards - when I realized my family was following it from BR at 5am 😂

@WhistlingDixie4 @stephen_t_webb I tend to just give them ketamine as part of delayed sequence intubation - they tolerate NIV well and spont breathe, usually SpO2 improves prior to intubation and *everyone* chills out 😎 #ccr24 #preoxitrial

Surprised that only 248 of the >3000 exclusions were for people too agitated for NIV (just thinking about my typical patient cohort pre-tubing) #PREOXItrial #CCR24

#CCR24 Simple low risk intervention, same dose of drug. Trend towards benefit in BLING3 and a meta analysis favouring infusions. Number needed to treat 50. The feeling is this is a practice changer- why wouldn't you?

Good news for Annadale & Hampton residents that following our meeting & objections the application for a mega-mast has been withdrawn. The range of this device is enormous & while we all need & want connectivity, there are numerous less residential & pedestrian sites available
