Asari Dokubo Warns Trump: ‘Nigeria Will Be the Grav+yard of Any US Invasion’ Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has issued a stern warning to United States President Donald Trump, cautioning him against making good on his alleged thr+at to launch a military incursion into Nigeria over claims of widespread Christian pers+cution. In a viral video shared via Facebook, the ex-leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF) vowed that any American troops sent to Nigeria would meet fierce resistance. According to him, Nigeria would become “the grav+yard” of Trump and any invading US forces. “Let Trump come with his America, they will all d+e,” Asari declared passionately. “This l¥natic wants to annex Canada, wants Iceland, wants to k+ll the president of Venezuela and the Supreme Leader of Iran. America is a sick country that elects m@dmen as leaders.” The former warlord accused Trump of hypocrisy, saying the US ignored several humanitarian crises around the world while choosing to target Nigeria. “He can’t see the gen%cide in Congo, Gaza, or Sudan, but he’s talking about gen%cide against Christians in Nigeria,” he said. “If you come here, you’ll d+e here. Nigeria will be your grav+yard.” Asari, who described himself as a Muslim raised among non-Muslims, also dismissed the idea that the k+llings in Nigeria are purely religious, insisting that both Muslims and Christians are victims of the ongoing viol+nce. He concluded by warning that unlike others who merely talk, he and his allies are ready to act if Nigeria’s sovereignty is thr+atened.

I have noted with increasing concern the heightened pronouncements on Nigeria by President Donald Trump. This follows his designation of Nigeria as a “country of particular concern.” It is important to emphasise that our country is a sovereign nation whose people face different threats from outlaws across the country. The insecurity we face does not distinguish based on religious, ethnic, or political beliefs. The United States should assist the Nigerian authorities with better cutting-edge technology to tackle these problems, rather than posing a threat that could further polarise our country. The Nigerian government should also consider appointing special envoys from its distinguished diplomats to engage the American government. Additionally, it is necessary to appoint permanent ambassadors to represent Nigeria’s interests on the international stage. To my fellow countrymen, this is an important moment where we should emphasise unity of belonging over division. God bless Nigeria. - RMK
