@karpathy i recommend connecting it with home assistant, you would get a lot more benefits imho than DIY.

I was inspired by this so I wanted to see if Claude Code can get into my Lutron home automation system. - it found my Lutron controllers on the local wifi network - checked for open ports, connected, got some metadata and identified the devices and their firmware - searched the internet, found the pdf for my system - instructed me on what button to press to pair and get the certificates - it connected to the system and found all the home devices (lights, shades, HVAC temperature control, motion sensors etc.) - it turned on and off my kitchen lights to check that things are working (lol!) I am now vibe coding the home automation master command center, the potential is 🔥.And I'm throwing away the crappy, janky, slow Lutron iOS app I've been using so far. Insanely fun :D :D

בארבע לפנות בוקר הבית שלי התחיל להשתגע. תריסים עולים ויורדים בלי הפסקה, אורות נדלקים וכבים בכל רחבי הבית. האמת? די מפחיד בהתחשב בעצבים הרופפים שלנו עכשיו. הרגיש כמו בסרט כשרוחות משתלטות על הבית. פתחתי את ארונות חשמל לנסות להבין מה קורה, ניתקתי את הבקר האפליקציה של החשמל חכם מהאינטרנט, זה עדיין המשיך, לקראת חמש בבוקר נשברתי וצלצלצי ליקי, שהתקין לי את החשמל החכם בבית בזמנו. הוא כמובן ישן שנת ישרים ולא שמע את השיחה. בסוף בייאושי פשוט הורדתי את החשמל לכל הבית חוץ מלמקרר והבלגן פסק. תפסתי את יקי בטלפון עכשיו ולדבריו, החל מחמישי בערב יש התקפת סייבר על בתים חכמים בישראל. תוקפים את מערכת הפיקוד של מערכת החשמל עצמה ומשגעים אותה. הפתרון הזמני: ניתוק בקר השליטה מרשת האינטרנט. לוקח שנייה כשיודעים מה לעשות ויודעים איפה הוא פיזית בארון החשמל. ושלב ב: לחסום גישה בראוטר/פיירוול. תקופה הזויה.
