Today my wonderful sister-in-law Sarah Viera invited my mom Maria Viera to Macfarlane Elementary to talk to her Kindergarten students on being a little girl in Cuba. The room was decorated for Cuban-American pride. When I heard my mom was going to speak, I skipped the morning of Council to come and brought the kids a photograph of my mom in Cuba as a little girl. It was a real pleasure to see my mom in action. She’s a lovely soul.
