We are witnessing the end of grandparents as we know them.
Children in the 1970s & 80s knew their grandparents as capable middle-aged adults in their 40s and 50s.
Children in the very near future will only know their grandparents as elderly geriatrics, if at all.

under no circumstance should little girls be taken into the men’s bathroom, and the disingenuousness in pretending not to understand why is sick.
there is nothing wrong with a dad announcing he’s coming into the women’s room because he has daughters, allowing the women to prepare themselves, then helping his children. this is not happening nearly enough for the moral panic of “well would you want your daughter in the ladies room with a bunch of men just because they’re dads” and that argument is stronger in the other direction.
would you want a little girl in the men’s room surrounded by men with their dicks out ??????

Got sucked into the debate on the dad with his daughter in the women's bathroom. He should have taken her into the men's bathroom, full stop. And for all the people saying they would never want their 3-year-old daughter in a bathroom with men... The stalls have doors, you know. She's not just on display. Fast forward a few years, and your same logic holds with the opposite effect. Imagine that your daughter is now a teenager. Do you want her in the bathroom with a bunch of men, just because they happened to have their young kids with them? By the logic people are using, you have to pick a poison. Except it's not really a poison because the kid is behind closed doors!

and ofcourse enough space in all stall to help a kiddo (or multiple!)
Ikea has a double bathroom: Parent+kiddo BOTH can go at the same time.

I'll continue taking my toddler daughter into the females restroom. I'll continue to announce my presence, my dilemma, and inquire if any of the occupants have a problem with it. So far I've never met one of these vapid women that think it would be better for my toddler to see penises, walk in piss, and sit on a toilet seat that just had piss all over it. It seems like those women mostly exist online.

Meer dan 1 keer prikken? Is dat nodig dan? Als ik bloed onderzoek heb vragen ze of ik een goed zichtbare ader heb en dan laat ik de armen zien en zegt ik nou je iets er maar 1 uit. En ze zeggen allemaal zo daar kunnen we gewoon niet naast prikken zo duidelijk zichtbaar ze zijn. Ben er wel blij mee dat ze zo goed zichtbaar zijn.

Inderdaad neurodivergent is een brede verzamelnaam. Het wordt wel vaak met autisme en ADHD in verband gebracht. Ik gaf mijn duiding om te zeggen dat ik soms plof in mijn hoofd en als mensen daar dan volgens mij last van hebben gehad dan zal ik altijd zeggen sorry. En ja echt wel stomme prikkels!!!!!!

Ik ben neurodivergent, maar niet door autisme.
Bij mij komt het door NAH, waardoor mijn prikkelverwerking anders werkt dan bij neurotypische mensen. Mijn brein raakt sneller vol. En als dat gebeurt, kan ik onredelijk reageren. Niet gevaarlijk, niet agressief gewoon overprikkeld.
En zodra het zakt, zie ik het zelf ook.
Dan zeg ik: “Sorry, dat was niet oké. Dat lag aan mij.”
Voor anderen zijn het kleine dingen. Voor mij kunnen het triggers zijn:
een schuurmachine, druk verkeer, jengelende kinderen, regen, wind, geuren, fel licht. Alles bij elkaar kan me al over de rand duwen.
Wat helpt?
Laat me even. 5–10 minuten.
Als je dan toch doorgaat terwijl ik aangeef dat ik ruimte nodig heb, wordt het erger. Maar geef je me die paar minuten, dan kom ik altijd terug met uitleg en een oprecht excuus.
Dat is geen onwil.
Dat is hoe mijn brein werkt.

Al de gehele dag staat er in @amersfoort op de Sprengenberg een politieauto geparkeerd terwijl er genoeg parkeerplaatsen zijn. Naast dat dit niet mag (er is geen noodzaak om daar zo lang te staan), is dit erg onhandig voor voetgangers en rolstoelgebruikers. @politie_bureau
