YouVersion not only carries The Passion Translation after YEARS of it being exposed as sectarian, unreliable (according to numerous respected Christian scholars), misleading, and recently being exposed even more as not even being translated in many places but copied and pasted from other works, they also promote it with ads as recently as today. This isn’t just a translation I don’t like. It would be childish to make such a stink over that. It’s an affront to the Word of God and the people of God. If you think I am overreacting I would just let ask you to consider doing a bit of research first.

Ted Bundy claimed an angel appeared to him and gave him a pseudorandom sequence of 6,500,000 alphanumeric characters. Despite the fact that the historical evidence indicates that Bundy originally claimed that he received this list from a demon, if anyone wants to challenge the claim that Bundy's pseudorandom sequence was divinely inspired, they need to have read all 2,600 pages of this pseudorandom sequence of characters from cover-to-cover. It will not suffice to have read a representative sample of 100 pages. In fact, it's not even good enough if you've read 800 pages of the list. You need to read all 2600 pages to be qualified to debate. Here is a brief teaser. If you read this and pray about it, perhaps God will inspire you to read the rest: "a3%ergqwerwywyht4h5wy2gwg5ve4s^QQ*%Wqreqrewfwerfqwfwergerbtdtrxf5650dsfa9sdfadfasf()dfasdfasfascs!@@@@@5wt5twg5vte446h6e5h5h6e^"

Even the UN admits it now! A new UN report documents Hamas publicly executing, torturing, and maiming Palestinians in Gaza: blindfolded men shot in public squares, beatings with metal pipes, deliberately broken bones, and public punishments designed to spread fear. For years, many tried to portray Hamas as freedom fighters. The reality is much simpler: Hamas terrorizes Israelis and Palestinians alike.

As Mormons continue to demonstrate the "fruits" they are always talking about by relentlessly mocking my appearance and voice to claim that I lost the debate, somebody in the YT comments had the bright idea to put the transcript into Gemini and see what it thought. Apparently, unlike 99% of Mormons, AI is able to follow the logic of an argument: "I downloaded the transcript, plugged it into gemini, and asked gemini to analyze and evaluate it by all relevant metrics to determine who won. This is what it had to say (please take everything with a grain of salt, it is still AI after all): To determine who won the debate on the proposition "It is more likely that the Book of Mormon was inspired by demons than by God," we must look past personal theology and instead evaluate the exchange through the objective metrics of formal debate mechanics: parameter management, burden of proof fulfillment, cross-examination agility, and structural resilience. Evaluating the transcript reveals that Ethan won this debate. Ethan’s victory is structurally definitive because he weaponized his opponent's own religious worldview to establish his premises, while Luke failed to defend his flank against historical data, ultimately shifting his parameters when under pressure. --- 1. The Battle of Frameworks and Parameter Management The core challenge of this specific proposition relies on establishing prior probability and intent. Ethan's Strategy (Internal Critique): Ethan opened with a brilliant rhetorical trap. Rather than using Catholic or secular standards to evaluate demonic deception, he used Joseph Smith’s own stated standards. He cited Smith's writing from Times and Seasons (1842) to establish that: 1. False spirits have successfully deceived all nations. 2. Demons frequently inspire revelations very close to the truth to lend credence to deceptions. 3. No man can tell true from false spirits without the regular constituted authorities (priesthood/discerning of spirits), a power Smith claimed had departed the world for ages. Luke’s Tactical Failure: Luke tried to dismiss Ethan's opening by utilizing an external framing—arguing that secular historians (like Dan Vogel) view the magic worldview as merely part of Smith’s environment, not actual demon-worship . Why Ethan wins this pillar: By appealing to secular historical consensus, Luke accidentally undermined his own position as an LDS apologist. If Luke uses a secular, naturalistic framework to dismiss the "demonic" hypothesis, that same naturalistic framework simultaneously dismisses the "divine" hypothesis. Because the proposition required choosing between two supernatural sources (Demons vs. God), Luke's retreat into secular environmental explanations left his "inspired by God" thesis structurally completely undefended. --- 2. Evidentiary Load and the Problem of "Fruits" Both debaters leaned heavily on Christ's biblical mandate to evaluate prophets "by their fruits". However, their execution of this metric was vastly unequal. Ethan's Evidence (Proximate Fruits): Ethan systematically cataloged the early historical data surrounding the emergence of the LDS church: animal sacrifices to appease evil spirits during treasure digs , the "treasure guardian" appearing as a toad , early church authorities instantly convulsing or screaming under perceived demonic possession during ordinations , and early leaders like Oliver Cowdery and the Whitmer family being easily deceived by Hiram Page’s competing seer-stone revelations . Luke's Evidence (Remote Fruits): Luke bypassed the historical birth of the church entirely and instead pointed to modern sociological data . He cited Pew Research statistics showing that modern Latter-day Saints have low divorce rates, high church attendance, large families, and are considered "model citizens" . Why Ethan wins this pillar: Ethan successfully drew a distinction between proximate fruits (the immediate moral actions, deceptions, and occult practices of the prophet) and remote fruits (the eventual development of a socially conservative, nice community down the line). Ethan pointed out that if "having stable, moral communities" is the standard for divine truth, it would accidentally authenticate mutually exclusive religions (e.g., Orthodox Judaism or conservative Islam). Luke failed to provide a structural bridge explaining how modern good behavior proves a 19th-century text wasn't a clever, close-to-the-truth demonic counterfeit—especially after Ethan noted that demons want a convincing counterfeit to establish a foothold. --- 3. Cross-Examination Performance (The Decisive Blow) The debate was ultimately won and lost in the cross-examination and lightning rounds, where Ethan trapped Luke using a series of **conditional concessions (arguing arguendo). Ethan's Trap: During cross-examination, Ethan was willing to grant Luke his strongest points for the sake of argument . Ethan explicitly stated that even if the Book of Mormon was an impossible literary masterpiece that exceeded natural human memory or composition skills, it still fit the demonic hypothesis better than the divine one . This is because a demon would have the supernatural intellect required to compose it . Luke’s Logical Lock-up: When Luke pushed back, demanding to know what the "demon's goal" would be in writing a book that brings people closer to Christ , Ethan sprung the trap he laid in his opening statement: The goal of a highly intelligent demon is to mimic biblical Christianity closely to gain a foot in the door, only to introduce structural contradictions later (like polygamy and changing revelations) to bring the entire concept of Christian truth into disrepute among secular onlookers . When asked during the super chats if another religion producing equally charitable, faithful, and committed members would prove its distinct theological claims are true, Luke responded: "It would prove that the teachings that produced that weren't demonic..." With this single line, Luke structurally surrendered his position. He reduced the definition of "Divine Inspiration" down to "Not Demonic." By Luke's own defensive logic, any moral secular or religious group is effectively cleared of demonic influence, meaning the Book of Mormon possesses no unique divine signature over any other high-functioning social group. --- Final Verdict Ethan wins cleanly. Ethan behaved like an analytical historian and formal logician. He stayed strictly within the boundary of the resolution, mapped out clear historical evidence , used Joseph Smith's own words to dismantle the apologist defense before it was even uttered , and smoothly executed conditional concessions under cross-examination. Luke lost the structural match because he substituted emotional appeal and sociological deflection for conceptual precision . He spent his time arguing that the Book of Mormon is a "good book" that makes people feel good , completely failing to counter Ethan’s logically consistent thesis: that according to the founding prophet himself, looking like a "good book" is exactly how a high-level demonic deception operates."

Joseph Smith: “ALL churches teach a false gospel and only if you follow me will you know the full gospel and be in the true church.” Me: “I agree Joseph, you do teach a different gospel and founded a different religion and started a different church. You are not Christian.” Mormons: “that’s offensive, we’re Christian’s just like you…. Except of course we are the only true Christians with the true gospel and we alone worship in the true church. Why are you so mean?”

OMG! I thought the "magic underwear" was just something taken out of context that people used to make fun or Mormons. This ex-Mormon says it is true. I'm lost at words. How is this biblical? How does wearing that underwear every day bring you closer to God? Any Mormon care to chime in on here?

The whole point of the debate prompt was to demonstrate the following: (1) Mormon can only escape the conclusion that their book is more likely demonic than divine by *rejecting* Joseph Smith's teaching on spiritual discernment. But it makes no sense for them to reject that teaching because (i) Joseph Smith claimed to have supernatural insight into how demons worked, (ii) Joseph Smith identified *specific individuals* that he says *had a false spirit* and then did all the things that Mormons are claiming that demons wouldn't do, (iii) the principle I'm invoking has been reaffirmed by the highest authorities in their Church over and over again. That is a DISASTER for them because it shows their system is self-defeating. It is fine by me if you think the BoM was natural rather than demonic. That wasn't the point of the debate topic - the point was to show there is a massive inconsistency at the heart of Mormon epistemology for reasoning about demons. (2) If you don't presuppose Mormonism and evaluate both pro-Mormon and anti-Mormon sources critically, you arrive at the conclusion that Smith's official histories are *embellishments* and that the religious content of his narratives of the discovery of the plates are anachronisms. The historical evidence indicates that his narrative began as *money-digging yarn* that involved an encounter with an *evil spirit* rather than a prophetic calling and an angel of the Lord. Thus, if Smith himself originally said he got the book from a demon but then falsified the story later, obviously it is way more likely that it was demonic than divine, regardless of your opinion about the probability of demons. (3) Both the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible associate the very practices that Smith was engaged in with *false prophets* and with *demonic influence* and literally connect it with being disqualified from divinely appointed ministry. The idea that God took a prominent diviner, necromancer, and demon-worshipper and decided to call him to be a foundational prophet of a religion in an experience with a narrative structure (even on Smith's later version of the story) that exactly corresponds to all these money-digging yarns in the local context is manifestly absurd and contradicts both Mormon and Catholic theological loci. Furthermore, the idea it is consistent with prophetic calling to continue to engage in the activity after the call and subsequently *whitewash it* rather than repent of it is insane. The notion that God had him translate the book using the exact same technology that you have a reputation for using to do nefarious activities is also nuts. (4) Mormon sources report that there was *literally a demon rampage in early Mormon communities right after the restored Gospel was established there* and then when Joseph came to institute the authorities to manage the crisis, as he laid hands on a guy to ordain him as a priest, the demon possessed the guy and Joseph had to be shamed into admitting it was a demon. Then, the demon took turns possessing all the Mormon leadership all night long. After this incident, it seems that basically every Mormon leader would at some point be possessed by a demon and/or gave false prophesies on behalf of demons, including Joseph himself!!!

Most pastors don’t consider a Bible translation they use occasionally to be a translation they “preach from.” Most pastors have a primary translation they use. For example, have I preached from The Passion Translation? Yes. Twice. Do I preach from it? No. I preach from the New Living Translation (NLT), which is the translation I regularly study, prepare from, and preach from. Before that, I preached from the NKJV.

🚨 The Anatomy of a Textual Shell Game: How the 10 Commandments are Structurally Neutralized The version of the 10 Commandments displayed on Catholic church walls, concrete monuments, and parish websites is fundamentally different from what is actually written inside their own official Catechism. This isn’t a simple matter of "ancient numbering history"—it is a structural mechanism of bad-faith concealment and textual overloading. Here is exactly how the layout operates behind closed doors: 1. The Public-Facing Erasure (The Bailey) If you walk into a parish or visit a diocesan website (such as the official page for Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Vatican's main Section Two headers), you will see a clean, truncated 1–10 list. Under Commandment #1, the explicit biblical prohibition against making and bowing to graven images (Exodus 20:4–5) is 100% missing. It is replaced with a short, positive summary or an entirely different New Testament verse ("You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve"). 2. The Internal Text-Overloading (The Motte) When cornered on this blatant deletion, apologists sprint to the master manual, yelling: "We didn't delete it! Look at Subsection IV!" But look at what they physically did to the text structure inside that manual. To protect their physical practice of kneeling before statues, they took the massive "graven image" prohibition block from Exodus and dragged/folded it directly into the First Commandment. They overloaded Commandment #1 with so many extra modifications, explanations, and long-form sentences that it became structurally impossible to fit on a standard public display plaque. Because the list is now a massive wall of text, the public-facing billboards just wipe the restriction completely clean from public view. 3. The "Nevertheless" Addition (The Neutralization Layer) It gets worse. The moment you open the Catechism to find where the image ban was buried, you discover that they didn't just move it—they added text to completely neutralize it. Right after quoting the restriction in Paragraph 2129, the very next sentence in Paragraph 2130 hits the reader with a massive, conditional addition: "𝘕𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴..." The text immediately pivots to listing Old Testament exceptions (like the bronze serpent and the cherubim on the Ark) to explicitly build a loophole for the physical use of religious art. They structurally overwrite a clear, negative biblical restriction ("Thou shalt not bow down to them") by appending an institutional qualification that says, "Actually, yes you can, as long as you label the action 'veneration' instead of 'adoration.'" The Verdict This is a textbook Motte-and-Bailey fallacy wrapped inside a Convinced Deletion. They modify the layout. They overload the first command with so many extra words it can't be displayed on the street. They insert a "Nevertheless" addition to completely gut the original restriction. You cannot claim a law is "active and unchanged" when you scrub it from 99.9% of your public billboards, hide the real text in a fine-print manual that the vast majority of ordinary parishioners never read, and immediately neutralize it with an added footnote the moment it appears. The concrete receipts and the website headers don't lie. The public list is a rewritten system. Total bad faith exposed. ❌🪨

Hey Jasmine… Black pilot here. I think you missed the plot. Then again, that’s becoming a pattern. I graduated from West Point. I went through Army flight school. I learned to fly the AH-64 Apache. I deployed to combat and flew 55 combat missions over Baghdad. Nobody handed me a cockpit because of my skin color. Nobody lowered the standards for me. Nobody looked at me and said, “Let’s check a diversity box.” That’s what people like you don’t seem to understand. Suggesting that Black pilots, Black engineers, Black doctors, or Black leaders need special preferences to succeed is not empowering, it’s insulting. I didn’t want a different standard. I wanted the same standard. And when you’re flying into combat, the American people don’t care what race the pilot is. They care whether the pilot is qualified. Merit isn’t racist. Excellence isn’t discriminatory. And reducing every achievement to skin color says far more about your worldview than it does about mine.
