Another picture of what i believe to be Ladybird Eggs hatching. Though what the large brown insect in the top left is, I don't know! @ISHRLearns@DociFrida
In the middle of our lesson we found this little fella wandering around. In order to stop him being crushed at break time I introduced him to our safe space we'd created for overwintering creatures. Hopefully he stays safe over winter. @ISHRLearns
Grade 5 have been experitmenting with photography as part of their Art Attacks unit. Some fantastic observation and composition skills on display. @ISHRLearns@duncanfitzg
Our students know how valuable Outdoor Learning is. We make sure that our whole community understands this, too, including this year's BFD volunteers! We had a great morning looking into the Outdoor Learning program at ISHR.
So much excitement and joy heard from our 2nd Graders as they tended @ishrlearns Growing Garden and harvested green beans and potatoes that they planted as 1st Graders!
We spent some time outside today planning, cutting, drilling and most importantly being creative. Students created a character that can go into their setting. Eventually, all this hard work will turn into wonderful stories. @ISHRLearns
More wonderful grade 5 photos. Fantastic creative observation of the immediate area around them, along with some skilful composition, has produced some wonderful images. @ISHRLearns@duncanfitzg@waterscw
It's easy to default to land art when doing an outdoor art lesson, but what about photography? With grade 5 we looked at composition, lighting and macro techniques with iPads. @ISHRLearns@duncanfitzg
My Classroom view for the last few weeks. A huge resource for our Ss + a constant stream of energy since we have been back on campus. Today a fire toasting bread, other days an artist's environmental pallet; compass learning; bug catching and more. @ISHRLearns@ISHROutdoorEd
Our 2nd Graders used voice and choice to choose a topic to research and make a mini documentary for their Sharing The Planet Unit. David Attenborough you have some competition! @ISHROutdoorEd@ISHRLearns@ibpyp
Integrating the leadership unit w outdoor learning. Ss used their understanding of being a good leader to provide their partner with information to complete a common goal. Communicating, thinking, motivating, caring, focused partners = goal achieved in a calm way. @ISHRLearns
