you don’t care about realism, you care that it’s gay. and that’s why so many shows have and probably will continue to use queer people as plot devices for straight relationships and use them as learning experiences rather than use them for a deep, meaningful storyline.

to me, that’s more important than any sort of “realistic” storyline. what’s not realistic is finding a girl with super powers in the woods who doesn’t know anything about the world yet and kissing her a couple days after she learns what a friend is.

because queer youth don’t need to be reminded that it’s okay if a crush doesn’t work out, because we know. most of us have gone through that already. what a lot of queer youth do need to know, however, is that it CAN work out, that it DOES work out.
